Yes, really. It is not my expectation that in a biopic the actor looks 100% like the real person he is playing. What's important is that it conveys to the audience who Michael was and what made him special and that people go home from the cinema straight to YouTube and Spotify to see and hear the real Michael.

Perhaps it was referring to The Jacksons 2300 Jackson Street album? I know they didn't end working together but it was done in 1989

I think Jaafar looks like Michael there. Sure it's not absolutely perfect but it's only a movie

I don't get why people think there is a such thing as "free speech". There isn't. That only has to do the the United States government. A private company can censor anything they like for any reason. Regular radio stations cannot have any profanity on them, except for a couple of hours after midnight. But most don't do it, especially commercial radio that runs from advertising.. Some college radio stations will at the designated time, because they operate from listener pledges, not from commercial ads. Otherwise they will get a FCC fine. The FCC also fined the networks that had the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake Superbowl performance and some radio stations stopped playing Janet's music. A lot of country radio stations banned the Dixie Chicks music because of the George W. Bush comment by Natalie Maines. Regular TV networks (ABC, NBC, CBS. PBS, etc) edit theatrical movies

I guess we can't be too harsh on dodgy pictures that are being leaked, once Hollywood does its magic, I'm sure the it will look much better on screen.

Just a theory: what if this leads into the Motown 25 performance? Jafaar’s hairstyle looks very March 1983 to me. Perhaps Katherine will tell Michael something to encourage him at the end of this scene (“your brothers really love you and seeing all of you onstage again would be wonderful. But then, when you are there by yourself, that moment is yours!”), and then BOOM, Billie Jean starts playing. Just trying to be creative I guess lol.

I strongly believe that everyone should take a step back from the Michael Jackson 'stan' perspective and view this as a movie production that aims at a much broader audience. Of course Jaafar isn't going to look exactly like MJ, but then again, who does?

Instead of nitpicking, why not acknowledge the incredible work the makeup artists have done? His hair looks fantastic and very true to MJ's style during the Thriller era.

Let's take a moment to appreciate that this project is happening and that it's being handled professionally and respectfully.

As you rightly said, there will be nothing bigger for Michael's career and the reach the biopic can have on a global scale, it will attract massive amounts of media attention and he will gain new fans from this.
