"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Ha thanks, I have no issue with them calling it the greatest biopic, it's the numbers at the box office expectations I don't like
We live in an age of hyperbole. I don't think it's going to be dialled down any time soon. But I take your point.

It's interesting, though. What those comments told me was how strong the emotional / dramatic impact of what people had seen in that excerpt. The rush of reactions online tells us a lot, I think. It'll be interesting to see if the trailer - if / when we get to see it - lives up to these early positive comments.

So happy hearing these positive reactions,
It's really, really interesting. Some people got tearful, some focused on the potential box office appeal of the film, some noted the wild applause the trailer got at Cinema Con, some people have focused on what looks like good quality story telling. It's only an excerpt but it does look very hopeful.

seems we're in safe hands with Jaafar, Fuqua and Logan writing.
(y)

Things are looking good
They really are. :D

The thing with Michael's artistry and presentation, is it goes hand in hand with being massive and creating hype. It's perfect for promotion

The great thing as a director of the biopic, is the size and scale of Michael's productions makes those quieter more intimate moments even more impactful, because it's like your peaking behind a magician's curtain. That's why us fans even now obsess over getting unseen footage and interviews of him. Truly magical

There's descriptions online on the content of the 'trailer' that was shown at Cinema Con.

In the meantime ...

"My biggest concern now is that Mrs. Jackson, whose 94th birthday is next month, will still have the opportunity to see the film. To finally see her son, because that's what he was in the first place, being rehabilitated and honored for his inimitable influence on this world, through his music and last but not least, through his ceaseless humanitarian care. I can only imagine the pain she went through these last 30+ years, it's high time she gets her son back."

That's my fear, not sure she can hold on , and that's based on speculated ill health and age. Tbh it might be too painful to watch for her anyway.

It's not like she doesn't know , she lived through it all, it was her life.

3 hours at the very max I reckon. Anything longer and it becomes a bit of a slog, despite the amazing subject.

Your ass will be hurting and you'll need a toilet and potentially miss something.

The quality and entertainment factor can quickly become boring and you suddenly start to feel the long running time.

The more I think about, I absolutely do not want a 3-4 hour slog fest. Around the 2hours 40 time would be ideal. I remember watching the Irishman and killers of the flower moon and could not sit through all that again. It's simply too long.

Keep it snappy and full of entertainment.

Like wow, locals was really hyped and gagged. So surreal, hoping for the best!! All these predictions, I don't want to talk also, but Im glad the reviews are positive. My wish was, it would put MJs Vindication and redemption with his innocence, with more understanding/compassion as a human. A more positive impact to MJs life.

After all the hype and praise for Jaafar from the actors working with him to the newly released teaser....

What's the chances of the hardcore fans saying it looks no better than watching Flex when it comes out 😆

Just saw this. Posting purely as FYI. No way to know if the info is reliable.

Personally, I don't take this as gospel plus they won't decide the final run time until they edit the thing. They might be aiming for 3hrs max but that could easily be shortened a bit once the editing is complete.

It's interesting, though! :)
