It certainly is. It’s Michael’s exact tonality and inflection beyond what someone could mimic and as I said it doesn’t match with Jafaar’s lip movement. I just hope they don’t do that the entire film because it will be extremely distracting.
 
when the actual trailer gets released, do you think there will be more drama in it? I suspect we will see trauma to Michael aka him getting the belt or a mini beating from Joe and Michael suffering with all the fame , today was literally just a taste of things to come
 
I see quite a lot of people mentioning the nose and how big it looks on Jaafar , it’s my one big disappointment about the teaser , I don’t like how it looks at all

My reaction when you finally get a shot of "Michael" at the end was that it was supposed to be Jermaine. Nose is too big to look like Thriller-era MJ.

It’s clearly meant to be the OTW era given his wardrobe. However it’s still too damn big. Michael’s natural nose was always over exaggerated with the size being “big”. It was actually very proportionate with his face. Michael had a longer face with chiseled structure so it worked. Jaafar has a smaller rounder face so it doesn’t look right at all. The bridge is also too thick.

november 14 just before the screening of now you see me and novembre 21 just before the screening of wicked for good ?

If someone had told me that it was a screenshot from 'Michael Jackson: The Experience: Part II,' I'd believe them.

On a side note, at the risk of nitpicking, they also went way too far with the nose and eyebrows in that image.

I think the trailer looks fantastic, I'm excited for this movie now. It's about time there was some positivity in the world when it comes to Michael. It's great to see such a fantastic response across all channels...

I have one tiny complaint, forget the nose, the timeline, the story... It's THE GLOVE! It's there for a split second in the trailer but it's all wrong. Looks like it's covered in tiny crystals. They spent MILLIONS on this movie, couldn't they make a Swarovski glove? Or ask Bush to make one? There are better replicas on eBay!

So far, that's my only complaint but it really is bugging me 😞

Came to post something similar. The ‘70s nose may look a touch big and they made it a little too small by the ‘80s, but it’s not as severe of a difference as I initially expected.

I love this fandom, but the nit-picking is utterly insane. The clothes are 99% there and we’re complaining about the 1% - come on.
 
My inner Monk says: yes, they should have made perfectly matching outfits. But my heart says: the most important thing is to transport the feeling and I hope the movie will do that. So I try to stay positive atm, I really like the teaser.

I think with the blue Beat It shirt, there was a licencing issue with the original brand.

I think the trailer looked great. I was worried about the "cgi" on Jaafar's nose, but it turned out well. The Motown 25 recreation looks incredible, almost like archive footage. I am really happy we are getting a real big budget project from the estate. I have been a fan of MJ for 10 years, and it feels like there hasn't been a lot of content in that time to mull over for us fans. It'll be fun to track the success of this movie.
 
Lionsgate earnings call is all but confirming a second movie! Sorry for the bad English but someone who is following the Lionsgate earnings call is updating and typing live in a whatsapp group.

An update about second film:

‘We have now see Director’s cut, it’s exceptional, not ready to confirm a second film, the creative film is hard at work to deliver a SEXOND FILM’

“They said they the creative team are currently working on it”

To add to the above - this is the apparent synopsis which ends with - this is where his story begins.

To me , it sounds like we’re getting a second film, I didn’t think we would but everything hints at it , besides all that lovely Neverland footage would go to waste

I'm hoping that part 2 still manages to comes out in 2026 but I find that a bit unlikely, didn't they say they've yet to shoot more scenes for a second part? It'll probably be left for 2027 if that's the case.

my only complaint is the beat it jacket - haven’t been able to confirm, but i’m convinced based on the footage and photos that i own the same exact jacket, which my brother-in-law gave me after he used it for halloween. he got it off amazon. so a little lazy on that front but otherwise trailer was epic, if what paris said was true then i think we’re in for a crowd-pleasing spectacle, and if the synopsis is anything to go by, we’ll probably get a sequel with a far different tone than what this trailer suggests.
