and this is why we should be cautious based on those music biopics!

Generally I'm cautious nowadays with movie earnings predictions.
But there are three things that make me extremely optimistic about the MICHAEL movie:

- first and foremost the pull MJ is having at the moment with the young audience (see his streaming numbers, see TicToc and the like).
- the quality that was put into this movie (in Antoine Fuqua I trust)
- the marketing campaign that will unfold in the coming months until release day

I'd be perfectly fine betting good money on MICHAEL being the first billion dollar biopic of all time!

What's the time between the teaser and full trailer release usually?
archonten is right.

2-3 months is spot on.

I think will get the next trailer in February, maybe around Super Bowl.

And the final trailer at or around 2 weeks before release day.

In between, there will be glimpses behind the scenes, an extended look at the music and soundtrack, interviews with cast and crew.

Maybe we'll be even getting two audio releases with the movie:
- an outright score of the movie
- and a soundtrack inspired by the movie

Would absolutely love for that to happen 🙏🤞

Ironically, a lot of the Sora 2 (AI generated) MJ content on IG, TikTok, etc. is catching a huge amount of younger audience' attention. I have younger friends and family who love that stuff and as a result, check out real MJ stuff as well. Algorithm also pushes it on to them.

MJ Estate just getting free marketing

I've always thought MJs current standing is a testament to the man himself, nothing to do with what the Estate think they do

I had a lot of fun watching it
although we only really got to see the pop legend version of him in the trailer, not the human side of him
I am curious mo see how much of that they give us

Jaafar’s acting is incredible though, he’s taken on the persona and voice really well

do yall think that what are they showing in these next weeks in theaters will still be this teaser? or a more flashed out trailer?

considering all the negative stuff around MJ that would not only end another artist’s career but completely bury them - Michael still stands an incredibly popular figure who continues to mesmerise his audience and is always gaining new fans young and old.

That is the man right there , not the money making estate as you rightly said

Good to finally have more Bad Tour in HD

:D

It actually looks really good.
Where's all the smoke though

It’s clearly meant to be the OTW era given his wardrobe. However it’s still too damn big. Michael’s natural nose was always over exaggerated with the size being “big”. It was actually very proportionate with his face. Michael had a longer face with chiseled structure so it worked. Jaafar has a smaller rounder face so it doesn’t look right at all. The bridge is also too thick.

I guess the idea in the movie will be to show MJ with such a big nose that when he does have plastic surgery, people in the audience won't feel put off by it because they'll think, "oh I understand why he would do it, he had such a big nose".

Feels like a happy time for us as fans, not used to this feeling as a MJ fan!

I never thought I would think this, but I now feel relieved MJ went through the 2005 trial, as awful as it was, he cleared his name whilst alive. I think all the allegations that came post death would have been far more detrimental had no trial ever occured. Also, the 93 and 03 allegations meant MJ was thoroughly investigated, and the post death accusers were all questioned as part of that process. Irrespective of whatever the media want to write about the allegations, the information is all there thanks to the trial, and it's in MJs favour. What was undoubtedly a hellish time for MJ, may well be the very thing that protects the legacy it almost destroyed.

Also loved the fan frenzy clips in teaser, MJ would've loved that! The close ups of MJ that build up to the performance clips do a very good job of capturing the excitement of an extraordinary life.

QJ voiceover in the teaser is a stroke of genius, portraying MJ through the eyes of someone who worked closely with him helps to rub off QJs sentiments on the viewer. Really looking forward to how MJs overdone story will be told in the movie now!

Carson Daly Today show this morning. The music will be a blend of Michael and Jafaar…

Yeah I guess they tried to literally copy Michael nose shape, instead of something more fitting for Jaafar's features

I found it weird that I didn't see his acne though; that was a big deal for MJ too

If this is the design for the official movie poster, I love it!

I found this on youtube (someone had this as a thumbnail for their reaction video)

Jenny from MALIBU fanclub Germany said someone from UNIVERSAL (contact of hers) confirmed that the teaser poster will not be the official movie poster! Yay!
