"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Who actually plays Paul McCartney? If Mick Jagger has a role, then Paul McCartney has to be in it, because he contributed to Off the Wall and Thriller, and they had a huge hit with Say Say Say.

I just posted some of these quotes in another thread and I just wanted to say, a lot of people know that Michael liked to spend time with children because he never got to be a kid, but while this was true, it was also so much deeper than just wanting to play and have fun. I hope the biopic (probably in part 2) will show what children truly meant to Michael, how they were the light that helped him survive through his hard times and how helping kids who suffered gave him a reason to live.

Michael: "Okay, I’ll give you my honest answer. Okay, um. My greatest dream that I have left—I have accomplished my dreams with music and all that and I love music and entertainment—is this children’s initiative, is this thing that we are doing. But, um, ’cause I don’t care about [anything else], I really don’t, I don’t care about [career], I honestly don’t Shmuley. What keeps me going is children, or else I would, I would seriously. . . I’ve told you this before, I swear to God I mean every word. I would, I would just throw in the towel if it wasn’t for children or babies. And that’s my real, my honest [answer]. . . and I’ve said it before, if it weren’t for children, I would choose death. I mean it with all my heart."

Michael: "I get it back through the happiness and the joy that I see in the eyes of the children. They saved my life so I want to. . . give it back [Michael starts crying]. They saved me. I am not joking. Just being with them, just seeing them. It really has."

I hate how when people saw he had all those baby pictures in his bedroom when he died, they tried to turn it into something weird. I hope the biopic will show what the pictures meant to him and why he needed to have them on his walls:

Michael: "I didn’t know that I would break down crying when I saw her and I just broke down. I said, “You don’t know how you’ve saved my life.” She goes, “What do you mean?” I said, “So many times I have been at the end of my rope and I have felt like throwing in the towel and I just look at your picture and I feel there’s hope and I can survive this.” She said, “Really?” And I said, “Yeah.” I [used to have] a guy who would travel with me. His job was that before I got to every hotel, [he] was to set up the whole hotel room to Shirley Temple. I would do this for many, many years. All her pictures and cut-outs, that was what he did. So that when I walked in I would see her. I would have her taped to my mirror backstage."

This one just broke my heart when he started crying :

Michael: "If it wasn't for children, I would throw in the towel, I would kill myself. I wouldn't care to live. They give me my inspiration. They inspire me, everything I do, every song I write, every... the dance, everything that I do... And they try to use it against me."

Cory Rooney: “Let me explain to you what was said to me directly from Michael. Michael and I spoke about that. He said, ‘Cory, when I was a kid, I was denied not only a childhood but I was denied love. When I reached out to hug my father, he didn’t hug me back. When I was scared on an airplane, he didn’t put his arm around me and say Michael, don’t worry. It’s going to be ok. When I was scared to go on stage, he said, ‘Get your ass on this stage.’ Not just him, but every other adult around him. So he said to me ‘Cory, I will never deny a child love and if it means that I have to be crucified or put in jail for it, then that’s just what they’re gonna have to do.’

I do hope they do not include anything like this!!! The Shirley Temple things you are writing about would not land well in today's society. Making it sound like he would have been suicidal without children around does not portray him like a stable person at all. It would not do him an favors!!

I also feel like many people would judge if they saw/heard this...I always try to look at it from the perspective of people who don't know him as Michael, the human being, but Michael, the King of Pop. And most people who will watch the movie won't be fans who gathered information about Michael for decades.

So I guess the Biopic will concentrate on his career, his upbringing, what he had to endure as a child and how this made him who he was. Hopefully some fun moments to lighten up the mood and to show what a fun person he was. But I guess going too deep into his mind isn't a wise thing to do. It's too much to wrap your head around...🤷

another thing that worries me about that PG13 is how drugs use isn't mentioned as possibly sensitive topic. the people who saw the first trailer in 2024 claims that there was a scene of Michael at the piano swallowing pills. so if they removed his substance use, the allegations, the most crude parts of Joe Jackson character and God know what else what the **** are they even covering? is this movie 3 hours of John Branca "advising" Michael on career choices?

Wait there was footage of mj swallowing a pill in the movie??

I dont even know if that will be a good idea as we all know how the press will run with it
the press will always run what they want when it comes to MJ. i don't think that's enough of a good justification to omit such an important part of Michael's life. if what the press cover is so important they should have never made a biopic about MJ to start with

What do you even mean?? Michael's story needs to be told!
Michael's life story is Michael's life story. you either tell it like it is and paint and authentic portrait of the man - the good, the bad, the ugly - or you don't. all they have babbled about the production for years was how it's going to be an authentic and not watered down tribute and yet, there is a risk that they are subtly clipping away most of what Michael's life complicated. i am even seeing some people here saying what they should omit about his psychology to not make it "questionable" to the audience. that's not it. pretending that the allegations never happened, that he didn't have a father that tortured him and his siblings until adulthood, that he wasn't addicted to sleep pills and painkillers, that he was never in love with Diana etc and so many "difficult" topics is not telling Michael's story. it's telling a fairytale about some 80s showman that John Branca had the honor to counsel for.

i'm giving this movie one last chance to prove that i'm very wrong about most of this with the february trailer. if not, I really have no interest in seeing this movie

There's not just black or white, there's also gray.

You can't go into every detail because it's way too much for the viewer who didn't do research on Michael's personality. It's impossible to explain everything in one movie and (on top) to understand what is shown completely. Don't look at it from your perspective but from the perspective of the average viewer.

Hardcore fans annoyed MJs socks aren't sparkly enough aren't the audience for this movie. I think realising that will be a great way to set expectations here.

That was before they split the movie in two. Now if they show his 1993 painkiller addiction it will be in part 2. They might show him taking medication for the burns or for lupus in part 1, but I don't think that would need a rating warning since it was just normal treatment, not an addiction yet.

If they had to cut important stuff to make the movie PG-13 for theaters, then hopefully they will also release an uncut version on blu-ray.

There is still no guarantee that there will be two parts. If it bombs part two will be obsolete.

What i want most is that Michael is shown as the true humanitarium he was! That he was funny but also Normal! In as normal as someone with that fame etc!
I also want them to show the genius that was MJ!
In short lets see and hear about the human that was Michael Joseph Jackson.
Show how he would fly into many countries and first thing he would do go to orphanages, hospitals etc.
I carnt wait and i know many that carnt!
