"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Okay, I finally watched it. One time so far. And I am writing this without looking at the other comments, I don't want to get influenced (yet) 😅.

Overall it looks pretty nice and I am sure at the cinema it will be very cool.

But...I always have the problem that I can't take it when someone else plays Michael. And that's nothing against Jaafar, I am sure he did an incredible job and really put his heart and soul into the movie. I just look at it and think "aaah, nah...no, that's not...naaah" 😂. Can't explain...can someone understand me? Well, have to watch it more often, but I think that won't change. Had the same issue at the musical.

And I was kinda more impressed by the teaser 🤷.

Don't knooooow 🫠😅
I have the same kind of feeling. It's not to criticize Jaafar's play, it's just an odd feeling I always have with impersonators as it is impossible to copy Michael, even for the best.

Why is that? I don't understand, maybe too early in the morning 😅.

It's common to add some noise/grain to films, series and photos. I don't necessarily think they look older if you do that, just more realistic and like better quality.
Because grainy is harder to watch I imagine ... I need a criminally smooth, crystal clear image 🤓

No, normally it's just a little overlay or maybe also naturally given, depending on the camera settings. It's very subtle, but effective. Without it, a film/show/photo looks very ..."plastic" and doesn't feel natural. You know it when you see it 😁

Jafaar is giving Jermaine more than Michael to me. Sigh - still I look forward to the music in the theatres. We don't get MJ shows on this side of the world so will have to make do. Miss you forever, Michael! Nothing and nobody else will ever compare.

Okay I am gonna say it too and it is no disrespect to anyone or any Jackson, I am just saying all I see is Jermaine's child, Jermaine's face, Jermaine's movements it is sooo hard to see Michael in him but he was raised around Uncle Mike often enough, so he should be the perfect king uncle MJ Student clone, and he had to train his Jaffarian booty off to even try to attempt this feet of standing in those royal tips for real!

I feel you a lot on this :D

There was a perfect poster already. Such a wasted opportunity.

and that’s what the film gives off ….it feels fake/plastic and too modern.

The CGI shots at at Wembley look like it’s from a computer game 😬.

I honestly think this film looks trash. It’s too polished , doesn’t feel authentic, every character looks plastic, even Branca looks like he’s been smothered in poor makeup and a bad wig.

It just doesn’t feel like an authentic period drama , comes across as generic mush that has little substance on the inside.

It actually looks boring!! and Michael’s life was not boring.

Expecting an authentic period drama after the first teaser is wild.

It's always the same characters on here isn't it. Don't think I've seen a negative post from any of them.

Seriously, what do you expect from a biopic?

No film past 2020 has good lighting 😭 😭 😭

Reminds me of a direct to DVD movie or a fan movie, estate and studio clearly went for minimal budget to try and extort as much as they can from the fans

Are you happy with how it looks in the trailer?

This looks like a paint by numbers biopic. I wanted something real and gritty.

It could have been truly groundbreaking but instead, we’re getting something so vanilla.

I wanted something raw and gritty , I want to see Michael get the shit beat out of him by Joe. I want to see the trauma he had to endure.

We’re basically getting a watered down lifetime movie.

I’m not the biggest fan of Paris but now I understand why she wasn’t happy with this.

It looks exactly how I expected it to look. You watched the first teaser and thought "this is going to be a real period drama, dark and gritty"?
