"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

It's crazy to remember there was a time we had nothing from the movie besides that still of Dangerous era Jaafar but now we're getting so much posters, trailers, teasers, and images by the hour. Goddamn we're being fed lol
Yes on social media we are fed and it's great on this forum! 💫
But when you try to avoid those platforms it's a bit silent. I also wanna see physical posters! On real paper! On a big wall!
And I had screened the web several times for options to sign up for winning premiere tickets, not finding anything. I only now got to participate through fb and inst, which i don't want to use really.

"Feel it in 4D" with a picture of Jaafar/Michael grabbing his crotch :ROFLMAO:

This!👏 and more than that...surely Michael Jackson is a bigger star than Ryan Gosling
The other day Hail Mary literally became the biggest film this year, with $140 million. Surely you're not arrogant enough to think this film "deserves" to overtake it just because it's got MJs name in the poster?

And surely you can also see that if Michael only manages $139 million, it won't be seen as a personal attack on MJ's character, name or ability?!

I'm going to a bigger city with a lot more options In their theatre. Which should I choose?
4D is distracting and a gimmick.

IMAX is for action films and isn't suitable for a biopic.

Never heard of Screenx or dbox, I think they're just poor man's IMAX.

Just go to a regular screening, you'll be fine.

I'm going IMAX 😎 Especially after the team said that's the best way to see it
Basically because it generates more money for them, lol

You sure u werent on a ride in disneyland or something
That's exactly where it started. It's a theme park novelty for something that's 15 minutes long. Not for real movies. I saw a Terminator thing once, with real actors running around in front of the screen shooting guns.

It made 80 mln in domestic box office in the first weekend. Michael has been already predicted to make 100+ mln. The international box office for Michael will be much more than PHM.

IMAX is basically just a larger screen that displays way more content than the regular one. No widescreen, but taller and larger. It widens landscape photography. I think action movies benefit the least.

I have heard that Nolan's Oppenheimer was amazing in IMAX. That whole movie was shot using IMAX film cameras for it.
Nope, Oppenheimer was only partially filmed with IMAX cameras, other scenes were shot on 70mm and 35mm film.

Chris Nolan‘s The Odyssey is the very first movie that used IMAX film cameras for the entire picture.

Look! Just go and see it in what ever format you want! Even many times in many formats if thats what you want! Me im going to my great local Odean Deluxe with Isense! Picture and sound incredible and then this will be the very first Uhd movie i have actually bought once it comes to Bluray.
Cannot wait. Some great films coming all very different! Mario Galaxy movie, Michael and then Disclosure Day. Good mix of great films oh and of course Moana live action and Spiderman.

For anyone wondering, I saw Tron Ares in Imax in Budapest and it was pretty spectacular. I was certain the immense amazing loud sound (Nine Inch Nails, man) made me pregnant.

It would be pretty cool to hear MJ's music in that manner.

But the first weekend doesn't matter, only the total... That's just marketing speak. Similarly "domestic". The target stands at $162 million worldwide.

Yeah, exactly. Anything dramatic. Car chases, flying, explosions, massive dinosaurs and aliens, dramatic mountainous scenery.

Last time I checked, Michael won't be having any of those.

A scene with a nine year old kid getting grounded by his dad doesn't warrant a screen that's 127 feet wide.

It would be pretty cool to hear MJ's music in that manner.
It would.

But then, whenever we talk about Michael's music getting released in SACD, Dolby Atmos, or other high-def formats, the overwhelming majority of people on here seem to say "sound quality doesn't matter, compressed streaming through ear buds is fine".

Lol.
