"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Motown 25 scene looked phenomenal, Jaafar really is gonna be incredible.

Not the biggest fan of the cutting to the crowd shots though but it’s to be expected I guess and will be more cinematic.
I disagree... I consider showing the crowd, their reactions, emotions, facial expressions etc. an essential part in showcasing how people perceived Michael's performance. I hope they included very loud crowd scenes.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the film is apparently tracking at a $55-$60 million domestic opening.

Quite a few big sites have released statements.

I’m disappointed as I expected bigger
I think we all need to manage our expectations as this is not a Marvel or huge franchise movie. I saw people saying it could become the highest grossing movie ever. That's insane. haha

But if that prediction is right, it will be higher than the 'Bohemian' opening. And that makes it very possible for 'Michael' to really get to a billion worldwide, and that would be amazing and record breaking (in terms of biopics).

I really wouldn't worry too much. 3 weeks before Bohemian Rhapsody was released, it was tracked to do 25-30 million.

True promo just began, and most viewers will be after the response of the film.

Not speaking to any one person, but we get caught up with stats so much we forget the organic nature of what draws people in. Even if opening weekend isn't great, just wait until they see Jaafars performance.

A Minecraft Movie was initially projected to gross $65 million but it ended up debuting with $162.8 million domestically and $313 million globally on its opening weekend. So it's useless to read all these predictions.

I don't get why fans wanted this much promotion. Every other day is a new clip being released.

Those who don't want to see spoilers can simply not watch them.
