SCOTLAND I'M COMIIIING :D
Hiya :)

I know Michael was a big fan of books. I've heard he loved fantasy when he was younger because he escaped from the reality. I know he loved The oldman and the sea, Peter Pan, of course, Rip Van Whinkle, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I also know about Rabindranath Tagore - in the last months.
Do you know any other books or autors he liked and read?

I really love books! I read one book a week.
I know he loved the Warrior series by Erin Hunter.

I don't know if this topic is interesting. Maybe others will post later or there is still a similar topic too.

I used to love to read so much. And now reading is something I have gone back to doing. It is the only real escape that I have now from what had happen to Michael. Right now I am reading VC Andrews Unfinished Symphony. But my absolute favorite book from VC is Flowers In The Attic. And I often wonder if Michael had ever read that book. It such a good book to read.

wow, i love reading too^^
and also i've read The old man & The sea,
haha...unbelieve that Michael loved this book too...

I know he loved a book called they cage the animals at night by Jennings Michael Burch. Before MJ passed he was in talks of directing a movie about it

Is that the one about Orphans, I remember reading that Michael was interested in directing a movie.

Michael Jackson’s Book Collection and Passion for Poetry
July 03, 2024
Michael Jackson was said to have a collection of 10,000 books. Among the bookstores he would visit was Dutton’s Bookstore in Los Angeles, California. Owner Dave Dutton says Michael’s favorite part of the store was the poetry section and his son Dirk Dutton mentions that Ralph Waldo Emerson was Michael’s favorite poet remarking that “I think you would find a great deal of the transcendental, all accepting philosophy in his lyrics.”

Is this thread for books about Michael?

Anyway, new book from Sam Emerson, photographer. Due to be published 2025.

@iamveronica777

"LATEST | A new book ‘A Decade of Magic’ has been announced! Created by renowned photographer Sam Emerson, it showcases never before seen iconic moments from Michael Jackson's career

Releasing early 2025"

They say “don’t judge a book by it’s cover!” Well, this looks awesome! I’m looking forward to this. Thanks for sharing it.

It does look fabulous. Looks to me like it's been given high production values. :)

I’m looking forward to this.
I'm assuming they developed the project to coincide with the biopic. Of course, he might have been planning to do this anyway, I just mean, I'm sure the publisher decided 'early 2025' would be the ideal time to release it since there was lots of publicity about the film once they were deep into the pre-production phase. I'm wondering what else will pop up. I've just seen this about a new Chinese translation of Moonwalk. I don't read Chinese and I noticed one of the comments asking if MJE has approved this but it's interesting, nonetheless.

I was very happy when it popped up on X. Seemed safe to post it since @iamveronica777 always seems to be reliable with Michael info.

He took so many iconic pictures of Michael over the years that helped define his image and each era. I hope we get lots of outtake/alternative shots. Definitely high production values which makes me wonder what it will cost. Although, there’s a silver edition and gold edition, but obviously we’ll want the gold edition which hopefully isn’t astronomical.

2025 is shaping up to be a good year for MJ fans. We either get nothing or everything. The biopic, Off The Wall MoFi and also this book! And a new Chinese translation of Moonwalk for that market. I wonder if it will have any different or additional pictures.

He sure did. Here's one of my top faves (any excuse to post Bad era photos, lol)

That would be fabulous although I don't mind seeing the classics bc, hopefully, the paper quality and presentation will be lovely so it would be great to see the photos like that. If that one I just posted makes it into the book I'll definitely be interested in buying it.

I think it's going to have a hefty cover price, for sure. I haven't decided yet if I want to buy it. The price will be a big factor. But I am interested. He did lots of those shots of Michael with police officers behind him, lots of classic stuff.

I'm more of a silver person - plus the silver edition photo is a bit of a fave - but I'll wait and see. I'd like to see both of them for real and I want to see the paper quality. I don't want to just buy the thing online without knowing first what I'm paying for. I'm old school, lol.

I love the fact that it has a slip case! :D

🥳

We either get nothing or everything. The biopic,
Colman Domingo is getting such good reviews for his performance in Sing Sing. People are already predicting an Oscar win or, at the very least, an Oscar nomination. If that does happen, it will add an extra layer into the biopic hype.

Off The Wall MoFi
🤩

and also this book!
😲

And a new Chinese translation of Moonwalk for that market. I wonder if it will have any different or additional pictures.
I'm so pleased about this. Feels significant, somehow.

MJ Vibe has a bit more info about the book:

"On what would have been Michael Jackson’s 66th birthday, Sven Hoogerhuis, the current holder of the image licenses for Sam Emerson’s photo catalogue, announced the upcoming release of a book titled “A Decade of Magic.” The book, featuring Emerson’s work, is set to be published next year.

The book is expected to be available in three different formats, each with its own price point.

Sven Hoogerhuis established Figueroa Mountain Entertainment, a Netherlands-based photo agency that holds the rights to Sam Emerson’s photos.

As a reminder, Sam Emerson’s recent interview was poorly received by much of the fan community.

We will update this article as soon as we know more and where to pre-order the book(s)."

They have a alternative image of the book:
