Michael Jackson artwork to be donated to L.A. Children's Hospital - by Katherine and MJ's kids

Firstly, a great gesture by his children and I'm sure that their dad would've loved it.

Secondly, if there's some shady ass action behind this, none of us I'm sure will be surprised.

Michael Jackson's Children Donate Ten Pieces Of Art To CHLA

Ten pieces of art drawn and signed by Michael Jackson were donated to Children's Hospital Los Angeles today, with the late King of Pop's three children on hand for the occasion.

The children -- Prince, 14, Paris, 13, and Blanket, 9 -- signed their names to some of the artwork, next to the name of their famous father.

"You look at this, it makes you happy," Jackson's sister, La Toya, said during a ceremony at the hospital. "They're whimsical, they're magical and there's just joy and peace. I know that when you see this and the kids see it, it will bring some type of joy to them, and at the same time I know it will bring joy to my brother as well."

She said Jackson would appreciate the artwork being placed in "a hospital like this that will help children and people everywhere."

The artwork was donated from the private collection of Brett Livingstone Strong, an artist and friend of the Jackson family.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Jackson's mother, Katherine, were also on hand for the event.

Mary Hart, a hospital trustee who helped arrange the donation with her husband, Burt Sugarman, hailed the presentation of the artwork, which will be displayed around the hospital's new building.

"To have the Jackson family here, to show a side of Michael Jackson here at Children's hospital that the world is totally unfamiliar with is incredibly exciting," Hart said.

KJ must be trying to do some damage control and redeem herself in the public eye. I think it's a matter of too little to late however. The damage she has done to her reputation and credibility will take a lot more than this gesture to fix.

Thanks. It boggles my mind how people are. On her show they didn't paint Michael favorably over the years and now she is part of this. I believe the kids are sincere. It is nice of them. I hope as they get older they continue what their father would have done in their own way.

I agree. Her image is wrecked.

It's a shame she didn't do moves like this before.

Yeah... but who's getting the tax break? The Estate is the only entity that can benefit from anything that comes from Michael.

Call me cynical...but it doesn't make sense to me that MJ would designed these chairs that bear his kids' names and turn around and give them to this dude.

Disturbing how these people have easy access to MJ's kids whenever they want to pull a scam

Don't see anyone outside MJ universe lynching Katherine. Not even the Jackson bashing media. Everyone who comes within touching distance of her (including her decease son) swears she walks on water.

She sure as hell isn't looked upon like Priscilla Presley is. The media for the most part ignores her and she can't launch a project to save her life. You see nothing but hate or laughter whenever she makes any sort of move.
 
Are these children being taught that they must fight the very estate that their father set up to take care of them? I hope they realize they are on their side.

But yet no big credible names will do business with her. That speaks volumes. They may not be lynching her publically, but they know what's going on.
 
Why Latoya is the one giving a long speech and not the children? Notice they say from Brett "private collection," so I guess this means they are saying he owns them.

Well this seems the first scam involving katherine that went through smoothly.

I hope Prince, Paris and Blanket stay close. Prince reminds me of Michael with his shades lol. I worry when they get older because I think they will see things they may not now.
 
Are there pictures of all the donated pieces? Any pictures of the beautiful Michael?
 
Let's get REAL!! LaToya is there for the photo-op in hopes of getting some shine, and interviews bc she's "oh so close to the children"...the nievity of some is really...sad. It must be wonderful to live in the world with blinders on and heads in the clouds on the daily! Maybe we "unsupporters" should have some of what, they apparently have been smoking or inhaled...just saying. I'd like to take that eisel(sp?) and bash her upside the head with it!

I see Prince stunting with his shades like his dad, Paris has Aviators, ala MJ, daddy, and that little Blanket just warms my heart...he's most like MJ in demeanor, etc. He doesn't enjoy being put out like he's an act in a Carnival, his demeanor gives it away.

^^Funny. I think you have the right idea why Latoya was there. Thanks. Now the sketch of the mouse is very, very appropriate for a children's hospital. Blanket in that white shirt reminds me of michael in Black or White, and the others where he wore the white shirt opened. I wonder if he chose that color purposely. I really hope he carries on his father's tradition.

Guys notice how the kids stand like Michael, with their hands clasped in front of them. Michael always stood like that even when he was very small.

I too think Blanket hated to be there. or mention of his father makes him highly emotional. He just doesn't seem happy.
 
The fact that LaToya would be there with Katherine, after Katherine released that statement about there being no evidence to support the notion that the Estate had anything to do with Michael's murder (refuting the LaTonta's ridiculous interviews) says it all about the family.

But guess Mrs Jackson and LaTonta agree on one thing - now Michael's children can have a normal life.

I am going to bed before I say something that will get me permanently banned!
