Remember that Essentials still hasn`t been released in big markets such as Germany, Japan, Brazil, Norway, Sweden and others as well.

rikta - Thanks for the France info. Does the #1 position apply to the overall Comprehensive album chart as well or just the Compilation Album Chart?

jesh - Thanks for the Netherlands and Switzerland update. Any word on how the 'Live In Bucharest' fared on the Music DVD chart in the Netherlands this week?

Also, for those interested, 'The Essential' was technically the UK's #1 selling R&B album last week, however, according to the official R&B album chart, it came in at #2. I guess the UK R&B album chart is compiled the same way the USA R&B album chart is where they measure sales at retail outlets that are primarily urban.

One more thing...'The Essential' was Europe's #2 R&B album last week and the world's #5 R&B album last week.

Countries we're still waiting on: Japan (2nd largest record buying market), Germany (4th largest record buying market), Brazil, Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, and Czech Republic. If there are any other countries you find chart positions for, feel free to add.

hope - I'm pretty sure the first week USA sales figure for I posted for The Essential is correct. I usually post the information as soon as I get it. If you have a link to show otherwise, please feel free. :flowers:

CuzThisIsThriller - The music video chart that's being tracked in this thread is the Billboard Comprehensive Music Videos Chart (as opposed to the Top Music Videos Chart which you linked.) The reason why is because it posts the entire Top 20 and not just the Top 10.

Countries we're still waiting on: Japan, Germany, Brazil, Sweden, Austria, and New Zealand.
