Here are the UK's Top 10 Best Selling Albums,
to the end of April this Year - The figures are
from The OCC, & end in late April. (April 30th).
The 2nd Figure in Brackets is the increase in
Sales since the November 2006 Top 100.
THE UK's TOP 10 BEST SELLING ALBUMS - TO APRIL 30th 2008
1) GREATEST HITS - QUEEN (5,579,309) (171,722)

NOTES
A) * = The Dire Straits Album was given 4,052,000
Sales, in November 2007, when The OCC previously
up-dated these Sales. They later realised that they
had added 18,543 too many Sales to the Dire Straits
Album. Those 18,543 Sales were removed for the
April 2008 Top 10.
B) ** = The OCC have NOT added in any Sales of
'Thriller 25' to those of 'Thriller'.
('Thriller 25' had sold 222,000 by W/E 16th August).
The OCC told me, that they asked Sony, to call the
2008 Album, 'Thriller'- to make it easier for their
Computers etc.
(The OCC explained that if the 2 were combined,
their Computer Data Base would call the Album
'Thriller').
Sony refused to call the 2008 Album, 'Thriller', &
insisted on calling it 'Thriller 25'. The OCC
discussed the matter with them, & both 'sides'
agreed, that The OCC would not add the 'Thriller
25', Sales or Chart Positions, to those of the
original 'Thriller' Album.
So The OCC do not add its Sales to 'Thriller. If
they did, 'Thriller' would now be in 7th place, in
the All Time UK Top 10 - with 3,836,058 Sales.
A PARTIAL UP-DATE - TO AUGUST 2008
In the latest 'Music Week', Alan Jones up-dates
the All Time UK Sales, of the Top 3 Albums. It is
not certain if he's up-dated them to the Chart
of W/E 9th August, or W/E 16th August.
Additionally, I have up-dated ABBA's figure, to
take in Sales to W/E 16th August.
The 2nd figure in Brackets, is how many the Top
4 have risen by since the November 2006 Top 100.

* = The OCC gave 'Sgt Pepper...' A UK Sale of
4,899,665 by April 30th, this Year. However, Alan
Jones gives it 4,896,399 to August 9th or 16th
this Year. So he's not only saying that it's not
increased in Sales since April 30th, but that it's
LOST 3,266 Sales in that time!
QUEEN - As regards the Queen Album's, at No.1, &
No.7 - The OCC assure me that NO Sales of the Triple
Box Set - 'The Platinum Collection' - have been
added to either of those Albums. They say that
the Box Set is regarded as a totally seperate Album
by their Computers, & there is no way that they
would add its Sales to 'GH1', or to 'GHII'.
