Michael - The Great Album Debate

I need a musician to tell me if this is really a coincidence!

I hear "Let me let go" in "Monster" and "Room 2 Breathe" in "Black Widow"! This is a bit too much for a coincidenc!
Don't forget Soldier Boy and What Does It Take, they have the same singing style as well as the riffs in the song are the same.

if anything, the vibrato is killing me

This'll help. Your ultimate dream come true:

Black Widow = Room to breathe reworked

Fall in love = sounds like a reworked motown song

Ready 2 win = On the line

Water = Heaven can wait

All right = pale echo of accelerated Stranger in Moscow

Too bad we didn't get the full R2W, you'd see what I meant with OTL copy towards the end.

I found the guy from whom they pasted the vibrato on the Cascio songs:

Sorry, I'm not very educated on musical terms, like riffs, but do you mean:

'Whaaaat......................does it.........................take'
'Walking like a soldier.......walking like a soldier.......boy'

Good observation!

Let me put this scenario by you all: If Eddie had released the instrumentals of these songs on a CD and claimed them to be songs he was/intended to work with MJ on, what would your reactions be?

I'd say that some parts of the melodies are familiar and close to some previous MJ's songs. On top of that, some of them are very close to JM's melodies! Monster vs Let me let go and Black Widow vs Room 2 breathe are good examples.

Could think of some remarks, but I'll keep it serious.

I'd ask him, what it was in these songs that appealed to Michael. And give a few examples of Michael's enthousiasm.

In 'All right': 'Then I'm hoping that we throw the stones away'..and then: 'Yeaheyeaheay..eyeah etc..'..it's so unMichaelish. Can't remember Michael singing like that before.

I don't know if I should call it riffs, but what I mean is those sounds starting @ 00:05 on SB. "duuuuu....duuuuuuuu....duuuuu". Then listen to What Does It Take starting from @00:16. "duuuu....duuuuuu.duuuuu".

Anyway, looks like we have everything Cascio related out now. All the songs, in either full or long parts + alternative versions.

I must admit that the melodies ARE catchy. I also admit that on some parts the voice sounds like Michael's. However, I would be convinced if the voice wasn't so often off Michael's usual timbre. Furthermore, the vibrato isn't Michael's at all. They're way too long and shaky! The husk is barely there, almost never. The gulps and yelps sound a bit too exaggerated at the moments. And the voice sounds so damn young! It does not sound Michael's voice from the 2000s.

So, yes it does sound like Michael, but it does not sound Michael. Too many parameters fail to convince me.

By the way, what is also disturbing is to have impression to hear previously released melodies:

stranger in moscow
room 2 breathe
on the line
heaven can wait
let me let go
they don't care about us
... it is well done and catchy, but only due to the inspiration of the previosu melodies which had already been created and which still are catchy.

It's weird hearing all of you describing these songs before I have heard them. I'll tell you what I think about them tomorrow night when I hear them.

Showed Water to a friend, saying "check out this new MJ song". Played it, comment: "that's not Michael, LOL".

When he sings "Dangerous" in Water, doesn't the "Dan" part of it sound pasted from another song?

There is not a single moment in any of these songs that I recognize Michael's voice, and I listened with an open mind.

But indeed, I recognize parts of his songs. Ready 2 Win, that line..is soooo Heart on the Line. So obvious. Unbelievable. What is this? Confuzzled...

I showed Burn 2 Night to my bf the other day, and he put on this disgusted face saying, 'Wow, what pure trash.'...lol

Sounds like the word "Dangerous" is paste in after "love is". "Love isDAN-N-N-N-N-N EROUS-S-S-S".
