Michael - The Great Album Debate

I don't even wanna think about my birthday in January....I will be leaving my 20s :(

Before MJ's death, this place was just fantastic. My second home. It was simply amazing. After MJ's death, things changed, sadly, but it was unenviable . I tried following everything just like before his death, then when the album announcement came, I was so happy. But when the fake songs came one by one... God, it just ruined everything.

In my opinion, the posting trend sends an alarming signal. There has been a hugh drop in discussions on MUSIC. When I went to Michaelmania, I used to be able to see active discussions on Michael's tours and albums. Now, I don't visit that sub-forum that much anymore because there is not much update.

Can you believe this thread is one of the very few active threads that focuses actually on music? Not tweets from family members, not a so-called tribute concert, not a book, but on music.

Dirty 30s :lmao:

Lovey, you're already there, how does it feel? ;)

It feels younger than ever. My mom said I'm still 13 mentally. :lmao: I guess she meant I'm a retard. :fear:

On a serious note, I feel better than ever. I'm more comfortable with myself now than I was in my 20's.

Exactly! I used to LOVE following the 'MJ's Groove Theory' thread...So much stuff on his music, and everyone was highly involved in discussion....Now, it seems that no one really talks about the music anymore...It seems to be Jacksons bashing (not that they don't deserve it sometimes)...But, what about the music? That's what seemed to always bring fans together...

At least we still have this thread, because we do talk about his music a lot, and just Michael in general...be it nostalgic discussion or whatever....Too bad people usually steer clear of this thread :(

LOOOOOOL...Nothing wrong with having a younger mentality :fear:

Yeah, I still feel like I'm, like, 20 years old lol...I don't even feel 29...so I guess that's a good thing, so I don't even know why it bothers me that I'll be 30 lol

although my join date is after mj's death I was a long time lurker

mood was a lot better - michael was the glue that held us together
his death brought the division of dead-alive , murray - murder conspiracy, pro jackson - pro estate division. during that time that was a huge division as well - ended with the creation of "conspiracy" sections. I think currently that has leveled and gone.
the album debate was the most recent division which you all know very well.

Actually one thing that we realized when we did the MJJC survey was that how people was still torn about it. It was mentioned quite a lot one group wanting the discussion to be more predominant and one group wanting any discussion about it to be completely banned. That's one of the reasons that makes me believe there's no majority in this instance - not for either side.

^^ People wanted discussion of the authenticity of the vocals banned?? Really? That's sad :(

some people are really fed of the division this topic is causing. they didn't ask for specific ban of this thread, they said they didn't even want to read "cascio songs" on anywhere. so their take was like "everyone made up their mind already, can we stop talking about it?"

I'll be 41 in a few weeks, so stop whining, child.

:beee:

@Ivy, well, like it or not, the issue will be ongoing until something comes up...Just like the discussion of the Jacksons latest endeavours, it's never gonna end...But I would never request to have people stop talking about it lol..

after michael's passing, it's inevitable to have divisions among fans. it's an unfortunate reality we have to accept.

but, one aspect of michael's life that can truly glue all of us together, it's michael's MUSIC. we are all fans of the man because of his music. vast majority of people become fond of his music first, then are drawn to learn more about the man and become even more attracted to the man.

lately, the discussions are too centered on the family and the related fiasco. i understand the need to express our frustrations. but, it becomes too overwhelming. the forum that is supposed to honor and preserve michael's legacy has more active threads on the Jacksons... :(

like arky, i used to love the MJ's groove theory.

hmm... interesting attitude!

first, the cascio songs discussion has not been spreading to other threads for quite a while now. it's limited in this thread mostly. if people really don't want to read about the cascio songs, no one points a gun at their heads and forced them to come here.

second, it's true that people made up their minds and nothing much can be done to change people's minds. likewise, nothing fans can do to change the jacksons' behaviors, people cannot stop talking about them. why?

just saying.

Sorry to break up some serious and legitimate discussion, but what do you think the chances are that I Am a Loser would leak tomorrow? If it does: Best birthday EVER!

If Fall in Love leaks as it was foretold: Bad start to the day.

I'll be in heaven if I Am a Loser leaks. You have no idea how much I love that soothing voice singing "i'm a loser. i'm a loser."

So would I. Fall in Love gives me the complete opposite feeling, though. That's why I hope someone who has the track will leak it especially for my birthday, for the possibility that Fall in Love leaks so the legendary tune can offset the terrible latter one. Egotistical, I know but it's a hidden hope of mine. Well, not hidden anymore, obviously :p

Sorry, I didn't expect people from my ignore list ruining our gametime. (love that forum feature btw, you should use it too, keeps you out of trollyland sometimes)

I just thought I'd try a 'comparison' myself. And even though the Malachi material has some reverb it mostly fits really, really well sonically. Ok, he sings (a)'game' instead of 'again' - still it sounds not really out of place. Ok, some (more) cuts here and there, some semitones up or down, but it clearly showed, that you can quite easily mix Malachi with the MJ+Porte-Supervoice, in an rather amateurish :D way, and although you are able to notice the spots, if the music was louder and denser (as it would be in the original album version) and more time was invested to bring the voices to an equal level ... you had a harder time to notice errors, especially if you didn't go back and forth listening to the original.

So, Kapital, Pentum, Bumper, azsummergirl, Arklove, love is magical, Chamife, Jesta, MikeKingJ, ivy, TheSilentOne, Milka: What do you think of this Breaking news version? Is it any good to fool people?

If the company adheres to its Code of Ethics and is socially conscious, then coming out, accepting responsibility and remedying the damage is the most appropriate corporate actions. However, it never ceases to surprise me how many corporate executives would place their own interest over the interest of shareholders, employees and customers.

Pharmaceutical industry is a highly regulated and watched industry. But still, some companies were willing to manufacture, market and sell medications with harmful side effects willingly.

When the executives are under a great pressure to deliver performance results that exceed expectation quarter after quarter, their judgements are often impacted and may not be sound.

I'm not an expert in corporate governance nor am I knowledgeable about Sony's corporate structure though.

Indeed. A pharmaceutical company still sells some products for skin with serious and irreversible damage to it. The number of people affected by the product has been alarmingly increasing, yet despite that very serious situation the company decided to continue selling their highly hazardous product under the pretext that only the minority of people has been affected by the side effects.

Some doctors start buisnesses with plastic surgery and use highly dangerous products that are forbidden by the governments. Some investigations showed that it was even taught at universities how to use those highly risky products. The courses are never officially announced, nor displayed, they are dissiminated within the "legally acceptable" courses. All the practices are done on carefully chosen vegetable which have neither too soft skin nor too hard. Apparently aubergines are the prefered candidates.

Parallel businesses have always existed. Click on some web sites and you will receive instructions how to make your own damn missile by the engineers who at the same time work for official military organizations such as NATO.

So, yes, regarding SONY, we don't even know who knows what in their own company. It is too huge to have a control over every single micro-product and over everyone involved.

In any case, they had their musicologists, they had their green light and they have nothing to worry about, so they simply prefer to shut their mouth rather than to spread negative publicity with all sorts of public reports which would draw media attention and probably further investigation.

Anyway, time will tell.

And Spanish señor? I'm not a regular in here, so who is that? Also, I thought this thread IS about flirting above everything else, mostly Bumper flirting with all the girls in here, or at least trying to?

P.S. Oh, wait, Kapital? He is Spanish? I <3 Spanish accent.

No, I am not trying to. :naughty:

Well some people wish they will never read "cascio songs" again on any forthcoming album. But we can only wish. So yes, some people have to get used to the fact that they can't always get what they wish.

Well, the backing vocals are still bugging me, lol. As for the rest, yesterday, after listening to it once, without paying a lot of attention, I thought, ok, we already know it's cut and paste, etc., and that you must be looking for something else. I DID notice that some notes here and there in the lead vocals were out of tune and sounded "too pasted", especially during listening to it for the second time. Then I thought, ok, he did something with it, but I'm too lazy to dig out the acapella, maybe tomorrow. So then when I came back this morning, I had already forgotten about all that (I was pretty tired and Bumper was quite a distraction, all I remember were the backing volcals and sextoy from the day before, not necessarily in that order) and what kind of mistakes you were looking for. ;)

But yeah, especially the out of tune thing ... you could probably still fool people with it, especially if they don't pay much attention. With the music louder and denser, even less people would notice (go listen to the Kelly Family, I think most people never noticed how out of tune they could be at times, or maybe even a lot, I don't remember, that was a long time ago, lol). However, there is still the problem that Malachi's voice in general is quite similar to Michael's, which of course makes it possible to just mix them together and people won't really notice. Which is an argument for both sides of the fence actually.
