Michael - The Great Album Debate

Warum machst du nicht echte Postkarten mit echte Rohbauen und Ruinen? :D

Das hab ich mir auch schon ueberlegt, hab viele Fotos und hatte die mal auf einer Webseite gepostet unter "Vienna - what you don't get to see on postcards". Wahrscheinlich sollte ich die wieder online stellen.

It looked different cuz I had to transcribe the sounds.

Yeah, now I see.

Chorvatština je legrační jazyk - některý slova jsou stejný, ale znamenaj něco úplně jinýho, třeba "pića" je v češtině hodně sprostý slovo.

It's strange to write here in Czech. Back to the other off-topic talk :pth:

Jeste, ali ceski jezik nije lagan :D

Here is how I should have written it:

Razumiješ li šta pišem ? Nisam znao da se češki jezik zove « python ».

Looks better ;)
Sorry for that Python (programming language) joke, it's quite late and I should be doing my school work...

Yes, I think I did. Ich spreche kein Deutsch, aber ich verstehe ein bisschen.

You think you did? At least this time you actually tried to understand me! ;)

I would love to see those pics you took.

I'll upload them again somewhere in the next couple of days or something and then post the link. But they are all from a couple of years ago. Things didn't really change a lot since then though.

Well I often drive through Austria. I always thought of it as a beautiful country. But i actually never visited the cities. So the pictures of ruines and building shells, and all the surroundings and environment that we don't get to see on post cards would be interesting. Why did you have impression that I did not understand you? The reason I made short sentences is because I am quite limited with Germann but I did study it when I was a kid. And also , thanks to Dutch I can understand the general message.

Because you said my post was interesting when I didn't think it was, lol. And yes, Dutch and German are very similar.

@Milka - nice pictures ;) Can you tell where the south is in the first one?

Why? Are you trying to find out at what time of the day I took the picture? Haha. The "Einbahn" traffic sign (the arrow) is pointing west, if that helps.

I knew that, just a random thought. It's usually easy to say where the south is in cities - according to the satellite dishes ;)
I guess it's really time for me to go to bed.

Maybe we should do something for November 8th to memorialize the schism in the fanbase? Maybe play Breaking News all day?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that sounds like torture. ;)

@grent i listed to your "gametime" soundcloud mix--it's crazy. great job! yet further proof that malachi sings these tracks, in my mind, b/c it's VERY hard to hear a difference between the parts you pasted in and the rest of the song. Although, while listening to your track, i literally said outloud: "please god make it stop". had nothing to do with your mixing skills and everything to do with how effing terrible that song makes me feel

Thanks, azsummergirl. During listening to the song my disgust turned to fun because the vocals are so hilarious - especially the woman's voice that can be heard in the background twice. Wonder if it's Jasons girlfriend or ... mother :D.

"Jason? What are you doing? Come down and have lunch!" :D

I still would never listen to the song and enjoy it of course. Also thanks to Chamife and TheSilentOne for your honest replies!

I also think that if you don't know Breaking News well and don't compare the Game Time mix to the original mix, you have quite a hard time to really notice significant edits. It just fits.

And the more I think about the "keep" issue, the more I think of it as quite a crucial part in this Cascio game here.

- The "keep" in the very first "you keep on breaking the news" is NOT pasted.
- The second to fourth however ARE pasted.

So, who is singing the first "keep" ? MJ ? Porte ?

So, why, if they had a perfectly non pasted "keep on breaking the news" - why on earth would they fabricate another version of the adlib later in the song and actually paste Michael Jackson into it ?

This makes no sense and seems like a crucial fact to me.

I personally think if they were duped and found out it later , coming out with it and denying any prior knowledge would be the best choice and keep them all protected.

Example: they bought the songs, released them, 4 months later they found out that they were fake , they were duped. they kept silent. sometime later someone else finds out and makes it public that Sony knew it for a while and did nothing to make it right. How would they get out of it?

Think of it like this. Car manufacturers do not set out to make faulty cars and when they start selling the cars they believe they did the best job. Later they start to get reports of problems with the cars, they recall them and make it right to the consumer. That way they reduce any past and future liability. they can't get away with knowing a problem and not fixing it.

No, they would not be totally protected. For example, your example of car companies. Yes, if they own up to it they reduce liability. But the key word is reduce. They are still liable and they are still going to have to pay out considerable sums to people for their mistake.

Sony can say they found out after the fact but that is not going to prevent fans from asking for a return (Sony can then go to the Cascios for the money they lost, but what is the chance they are going to recover their losses?) It also is not going to prevent their target market from being distrustful of anything they release afterwards. The amount of money lost by a shattered consumer confidence would be a large amount. Plus, as I said, if Sony were to go to court over this, they would have to make their actions transparent. They would have to prove not only that they did not know about fraud, but that there was no way of them knowing. They would have to provide the documentation of all that they did. They would have to explain why, not only one, but two musicologists who are renowned in their fields were also fooled. All of those people who worked with MJ would have to explain how they were fooled. They would have to show what steps they took to insure the authenticity of these records especially when the authenticity was questioned not only by MJ's family, by some who worked with MJ, by fans, and also by a member of MJ's own estate. The loss of reputations that day would be great. At the very least they are going to look like a bunch of baffoons.
Sony and their legal team would have to weigh the costs. Would it be better to allow the fraud to continue and if it is ever bought to light, deny the claims, produce evidence that the claims are false, and deny knowing anything and in the meantime, keep a small fraction that believes they are false under control; or, do we go to court and stake our reputation and financial future concerning this product?

We have to remember that even if it were proved that Sony was defrauded, proving that Sony knew this at anytime is going to be much more difficult. Companies like this don't get that big and stay around for so long by leaving trails of information around about their dirty deeds.

I've not seen a single person suggest that what leaked on Saturday could possibly be Michael Jackson. Believers have either changed their minds or disappeared completely. This is a good thing as more and more people are realising the reality of these songs. They are absolutely beyond being defended now.

Grent - your gametime mix highlights how bad the song Breaking News really is. Isn't it horrible that how well the pasted vocals blend with the Cascio vocalists?

Jesta - happy birthday!
