These are my thoughts:

The Pointer Sisters sound black to me. Tom Jones definitely sounds white as does the guy from UB40. However, I was shocked when I found out Bobby Caldwell was white. He sings "What you won't do for love". Shocked.

Michael never sounded black to me. I can't explain his voice. It was so unique. When I heard his voice as a young child, I didn't know what to expect. But an image of a white or black person was not prominent in my mind. I can understand when a person says that on some of the Cascio songs the person sounds white. But I don't get that on all of them.


As for who brought up the idea of the tracks being fake, remember that Teddy said that McCain from the Estate was contesting that the songs were fake From Teddy's context, it seems that this doubt was raised all the way back at the production stage. However, Teddy says this was raised once McCain found out they asked Teddy to do production on a song he had already done production on.

I wonder what changed his mind and convinced him that what he heard was actually MJ, unless he did just bring up authenticity out of spite (which I doubt because there are some serious authenticity issues). Or, unless he never changed his mind and he just decided to go with what the majority said??

Boy, there are so many people in the world that I would like to give some truth serum to.

Well, to me UB40 singer sounds much like a black singer. Is it because of the style of music. In any case, his voice suits the music style he sings.

Tom Jones has quite a deep voice and the funny thing is that 27 or 57 years old, his voice has remained quite the same. So saying that he has a white old man's voice in a song where he is only 27 is quite funny. :D

Michael Jackson has a very special voice. Incerdible, impossible to tell. However when you hear Wanna be startin' somethin' it's difficult to imagine a white guy singing it.

When I first heard Barry White, I thought it was a white guy, but afterwards I realized that his family name had nothing to do with his voice :D

Here in The Netherlands you're legally allowed to drink alcohol when you're 16, but it's not something I encourage though.

Over here it's 18. And I've been a good little boy and have never touched a drop of alcohol my whole life! Unlike some local people I know...

I was kidding. However I find that one of the guys from The Manhattans has similar voice to Barry White's, listen:

p.s. The choreography is better than the vocals on the Cascio songs
 
I just saw Branca on youtube related to Cirque du Soleil show. All of sudden I got a feeling of disgust when seeing him and thinking of all the controversy those Cascio tracks caused.

Great song. Enjoyed watching. Yes, Very similar, but it's as like you can hear in Barry White's voice that he has a bit of an overweight...:D

Guys, seriously... why are you doing this to me? Listening to "Lovin' You" for about 30th time right now. And "Lets Just Kiss And Say Goodbye" - the lyrics are all about me (except for the kiss, which I still regret to this day).

@Jesta - I never drink, but I feel like making an exception this time! ;)

It's really great what you all have achieved, if it wasn't for people like you making this topic alive, the Cascio songs would have never been removed from the show. Congratulations and thank you :)

You really don't drink at all? And after you're 18...? It still surprises me, how people get never tired of forcing me into drinking. I thought it would stop as I get older, but it didn't ;)

Nope, don't drink at all. Just turned 17 and I've never touched a drop. I've made sure to stay away from the group of people that like to drink. I have no interest, at least until I'm of legal age. Given that I'm very socially awkward and reclusive, that also helps :p
