Michael Wanted Unbreakable as the First Single

It's strictly a genre only in the most basic terms.
In Billboard, the pop singles chart is called "Hot 100" and the pop albums chart is called "Billboard 200". The pop radio format is called "Top 40". Notice that neither of the 3 titles describes a genre of music like the other charts and/or radio formats such as Adult R&B, dance/electronic, R&B/hip hop, alternative rock, country, Album Oriented Rock, jazz, gospel, etc. When the mainstream media talks about who has the most hits or things like "one hit wonders", they are most likely talking about the Hot 100 and not one of the other charts.

MJ wanted ‘Unbreakable’ as the first single. He even envisioned the concept for that music video.

At the beginning of that music video, MJ stands on the roof of a very tall building & some thugs hold him. They let him go & then he jumps. He falls down to the ground seemingly dead. But, gradually he begins (out of his body parts) to transform into fire & eventually starts to dance.

MJ was also about to introduce to that video some totally new dance choreographies that would stick to people’s mind forever.

“Michael even knew exactly how he wanted to open the ‘Unbreakable’ short film. He would be on the roof of a very tall building that was under construction, held over the edge by some thugs, and then they would let him go. He would go hurtling to the ground, seemingly dead, but slowly, his body parts would come together and he would turn into fire – dancing on fire from scaffold to scaffold as his body parts reassembled themselves. Michael envisioned creating a dance for \Unbreakable’ that people would remember forever” (Frank Cascio, 'My Friend Michael')

Parenthetically, MJ wanted also a bigger budget for his ‘You Rock My World’ music video, but Sony refused to give him those additional funds that he asked. So, its making completed with that lower budget.
I think in the beginning of the Unbreakable video, MJ would be presented in black panther form. Why? Because we can hear panther roars in the beginning intro of Unbrekable as well as fire on the background.

After few seconds we can hear panther distorted scream and some bumps after panther falls in fire?

I draw some scetches, so you could understand what I'm trying to say

Here are some differences between pop and R&B music:
R&B
Also known as rhythm and blues, R&B is a musical genre that developed in the 1940s by Black Americans. It's influenced by gospel, jazz, folk, and traditional blues music. R&B emphasizes rhythm and soulful vocals.

Pop
A broad term for music that's popular in the mainstream. Pop music has no fixed style or sound, but is often characterized by catchy lyrics, a danceable tempo, and easy to remember lyrics.
So R&B is basicaly pop music for black people?

I would say any highly commercialized type of music is pop, but what does commercialization really mean? Determining it is arbitrary.

Pretty much every "pop" song has elements or influence from another genre. In the case of someone like Britney Spears, much of her music should arguably be considered dance or electronic music; it's simply streamlined to target a wider audience. Go ahead and tack on "pop" at the end if you want to differentiate her from more quality dance or electronic artists, but "pop" shouldn't really be used by itself to describe a genre.

If anything, you make "pop" music when you take another genre and dumb it down for more mainstream appeal, but it's arbitrary to determine how much you need to dumb it down for the song to be considered pop. "Beat It" can be considered pop rock, but that's arguably calling it "wannabe rock", which sounds biased. If you think it's a bad song or that it lacks substance, whatever, but that doesn't mean it's not rock.
