Looking at This is it footage, I wonder what he was eating, to preserve the body he had. Not even the beginnings of a fat belly at age 50.
Was he a vegetarian?

Kevin McLin (a former publicist for the Jackson family) stated that Michael Jackson generally liked eating turkey burgers, Chinese food, a lot of vegetables, but he avoided red meat.

Also, right after a concert, sources close to him revealed that he used to eat watermelon (backstage) as a way for him to replenish the fluids that he just lost on stage while performing.

This suggests that also right after each 'This Is It' show, he would eat watermelon (backstage) for the same reason.

Michael Jackson also liked to order and eat fish sandwich from McDonald's (especially, while working in the recording studio).

One of the singer's favourite meals generally was chicken breast (chicken breast was also his last meal on Earth).

It is interesting to note that during Michael Jackson's last week on Earth, Randy Phillips hired a guy whose sole purpose was to remind the singer to eat.

Unfortunately if you look at how thin he was, I'd say very very little.

There was interviews from his chef at the time who mentioned what he was eating and all the healthy stuff he enjoyed etc.

I guess there's not much time for food in-between rehearsals and sleep deprivation šŸ˜ž

Thought he liked chicken and Chinese food, and carrots since he liked carrot cake back in the day. and some said KFC in his later years.

sounds good, but did he say that?
ā€œI fast every Sunday. I don’t eat anything. Just juices. […] It flushes out the system, cleans out the colon. I think that’s great. To really make it work, you have to do it properly. That’s the sewer valve of the system. You have to keep that clean like you clean the outside of your body. All these impurities come out of your system because you’re not clean inside. It comes out in pimples or disease or through big pores. Toxins trying to get out of your system. People should try to keep themselves clean.ā€
― Michael Jackson

He was ..Vegan and vegetarian when i first became a fan . I did not know what carrot cake was untill i read he liked it.
I'm not sure why i gravitate towards this thread haha

i remember this yeah.

Unfortunately, his diet wasn't correct... He could lose so much weight... I still can't believe, how he managed to dance with this poor eating ration

COLACELLO: You don’t go out much?
JACKSON: Only to go to the Golden Temple, a health food restaurant. I’m a vegetarian. Or I go to the arcade and play the game.
ā€œHe was the type of person who could just go, go, go for hours without eating, and then be famished,ā€ Niall says.
And when that time came, finding the right food to satisfy him wasn’t always the easiest thing. Niall says that Jackson had a ā€œfairly limited dietā€ and was ā€œa vegetarian who didn’t like vegetables.ā€
ā€œHe liked pizza, but he didn’t like pasta,ā€ he continues.
Another difficult workaround: He had a major sweet tooth, but he didn’t eat sugar and didn’t like chocolate.
Niall did find some dishes that were a home run, though. Mexican food like spicy smoked red chile enchiladas were a staple, and the singer was also fond of grilled tofu shish kebabs with couscous and Moroccan sauce.

Here’s a passenger profile for Applehead that can tell you more about what he liked to eat šŸ˜šŸŽ but in truth, Michael has talked about how he doesn’t like the idea of eating, and viewed it more as a necessity for survival rather than for pleasure. Much like myself who also tends to forget I’m human and has a hard time remembering to eat meals…

An episode with an interview from a chef at the Golden Temple who MJ hired to work for him at times. She claims MJ was a good eater who liked to snack often, so the issues with struggling to eat during rehearsals/touring may have been stress induced and circumstantial.
Most likely since that’s what the people around him said too. There’s a video where I heard him say he struggled with anorexia. I don’t remember which one though. I need to find it.

I also used to have an eating disorder so I can relate. With me liking food goes back and forth…I like it for a while and then I don’t anymore for some reason.

Poor MJ. I felt really bad that someone exposed him like that. You never out someone for having an eating disorder unless under dire circumstances. I think he did love to snack but didn’t have the best relationship with food. Joseph used to point out his weight and would be mean when he saw him eating.

From my experience of having listened to the interview, I just want to clarify that AR was not outing MJ as having an eating disorder. She talked about her experiences of him and what she cooked for him, and an eating disorder was never mentioned. I'm confused about how you arrived at this conclusion. Additionally, she could not have outed him if, according to you, he already mentioned on tape that he had anorexia.

I don't recall MJ openly stating he had an eating disorder, I do vaguely remember him saying that food was the only aspect of his life he could control growing up, could've been his biography or RS tapes. The part that MJs issues with food may have been stress induced or circumstantial was my own view not ARs, maybe I didn't clarify that in my post.

Despite your rudeness I will politely point out…I said quote, ā€œMost likely since that’s what the people around him said too. There’s a video where I heard him say he struggled with anorexia. I don’t remember which one though. I need to find it.ā€

I fully understood what you said. Nowhere in my response did I mention that she said anything about his eating disorder. I haven’t listened to her interview yet.

Anyways. Found the video. Michael talks about it in the Rabbi Shmuley tapes. He also once said his diet was "the only thing he could control in his life" amidst the chaos of fame and media scrutiny.

I'm sorry that I came across as being rude, my intention was for clarification and understanding, not to cause offence. As you referenced ARs comments straight after the outing comment, it made it appear you were referring to AR. I appreciate that you have cleared this. Just for clarification purposes, who were you referring to as outing MJ for an eating disorder?

Also for clarification purposes, does MJ state he had anorexia in the RS tapes? I wasn't aware of this and would appreciate a link if you have one.

It's in the Glenda tapes, but it's not the part where he talks about how the only thing he could control was his eating, it's this part:

Michael: No, I don't associate with them. I stay off to myself.
Glenda: Why? Isn’t there anybody you could be real close to?
Michael: No. I feel uncomfortable. It’s like... okay, this is my band, we got Michael here, we got so-and-so, we got Sheryl, we got, you know, Jennifer. And I just don't associate with people.
Glenda: Do you, um... Okay. Maybe is it hard for you to be so open?
Michael: I just...
Glenda: In a way, in a way, and to be looking at someone in the face or having someone look at you in the face cause you don’t want them to... cause...
Michael: You know what, I don't want them to get close and I don’t want them to see in my soul. And then I deal with all this anorexia thing... I feel sad...

And here's some information about what he didn't eat:
Walker revealed that dancing as one of the ghouls in Ghosts was actually her very first job in Los Angeles and her first time ever meeting Michael Jackson.
ā€œOne day during rehearsal, I asked him if he’d ever been to McDonald’s,ā€ she laughed. ā€œHe said, ā€˜No.’ I told him, ā€˜You have to go, at least once, just for the experience.ā€™ā€
