MJ as Doctor Who?

I have the book mentioned in the article, here's what it says about MJ:

Dugdale, Litten and Catling hawked the project around a number of American studios. No deals were actually settled, but the new script wasn’t entirely unsuccessful in attracting interest. However, some of the suggestions being made by certain studios were, to say the least, unusual.

‘We turned down a number of offers we had from Paramount,’ says Litten. ‘One, believe it or not, was for Michael Jackson to play the Doctor, and the other was for Bill Cosby to play the Doctor. On both counts, we turned down those deals – very lucrative deals they would have been too …’

Also interesting to note, Spielberg (or his company Amblin) was interested in the project but it seems to have been later on, around 1993.
