Mocked 4 lovin Michael Jackson?

I just really do not understand why so many people hate Michael so much? It is so rude and cruel!
What did he do to them? Michael is just a person who wanted to share love with this world through his talant. Why they still hate him? What is wrong with these people?

My own family has mocked Michael Jackson right in front of my face.

My Uncle sat and talked of how much he admired Michael's music talent and abilities, but then cut right in to how he could never take anything he did to hear though because he was a "perverted, pedophile." I told him he had no sense of the American justice system if he wanted to go around making accusations like that, and defaming someone in death. I asked him if he had ever seen any 'Law and Order' or anything like that on television, because everyone knows you are INNOCENT until you are PROVEN guilty, and MJ was acquitted. He asked me why I was so upset and I told him his ignorance was driving me crazy. His music and his personal life should never cross over each other in terms of respect. You can respect the music, and you can respect the man. I wish people could do both but they just can't seem to.

My Uncle's son, the next night, called Michael a derogatory term for being gay (it was starts with an F :( ) I asked him what made him so, the fact that he was a phenomenal entertainer and my cousin is just a wanna be, or the fact that he was an outstanding humanitarian and did more for the world than my cousin could even begin to wrap his head around. He also turned to the 'perverted pedophile' comment which is father had used, in which I just shook my head and told him his ignorance is just helping to tear the world apart. He shot back at me with 'Well he was just trying to be a white man.' My cousin was wearing sagging pants four sizes too big for him with the crotch hanging well below his knees, a huge baggy shirt hanging to his knees, DC tennis shoes, and a flat billed baseball cap. I asked him 'Well, aren't you trying to be black? Because I have never seen Michael Jackson dressed like that and according to you he is 'white' just like you.' And he shut up.

People's ignorance WILL be the end of my sanity. I can't stand it when people make such ignorant and derogatory comments about anyone. It just especially drives me bonkers when it is about MJ, because that is someone they don't even KNOW!

It's all because of one thing - the child molestation charges. Up until 1993 everybody loved Michael Jackson, even those who didn't particularly care for his music. Many considered him a 'weirdo', but they thought of him as a harmless and lovable weirdo. All that changed in 1993.

I know hun… . It is very sad. But do not people see that allegations were false? Or some people just do not have brain to think outside the box?

I think it is more the degradation of our society and our values. But also these very people if you ask them about the cases and about what they know about MJ, they can't really tell you much.

They don't know, yet they judge. They don't know MJ yet they just believe. I think we live in a cynical world where many of us are jaded and marked by our own experiences and judge others...... "when they hear MJ say, "its ok to give your bed to a child" - they throw out the innocence and purity of MJ... they hear and believe what they want.

Unfortunately, we happen to live in a world where pedophilia runs rampant. Look at all the missing children's cases in the world. Excluding parent-child abductions, how many of these children later turn up violated and/or dead? Too many. How many cases of incest are there in the world? A horrifying amount; look at what happened in Austria last year.

I had the misfortune of learning about all of this at a young age. A famous case occurred in my hometown when a little girl who went to the same elementary school as I did was sexually assaulted and murdered by her own neighbor. I was only eight years old when this happened. :(

Understandably, people are paranoid about it. I read a story once of a man who was merely browsing in the children's section of a bookstore and was asked to leave because it "looked suspicious" to other shoppers and the employees of the store. It feels like we have to constantly be on the lookout for any deviant behavior, so from time to time we wrongly suspect innocent people.

This also stems from people being afraid of what they don't understand. As he stated in "Thriller," Michael was not "like other guys." How many famous men turn their properties into makeshift amusement parks for children to enjoy? How many men (famous or non-famous) publicly state their love and concern for the world's children? I can think of only one man. There was already a perception of Michael as being weird, and the allegations, his declaration that one could share their bed with a child, etc, were the icing on the cake. People couldn't wrap their minds around him, so it was all to easy to dismiss and label him.
