Never say Neverland as Amanda fights for ranch

Yeah I would like to think that his children will someday have a say as to what happens to Neverland. Sad that everythng that made it Michael's - including Michael - is gone. But still, I wouldn't mind someday actually walking over the lux wood flooring inside the main house. I can't help but admire it in photos...

Has anybody heard whether any fans in California plan to visits the
entrance to Neverland in June on Michael Jackson's Memorial Day (June 25th)?

Okay I signed the petition but then again I also have to agree with VNCwilliam's post. I am torn as I can see both sides to the argument...
I guess in the end it wouldn't be the same without Michael.

In my opinion.....The Magic is gone without Michael there...HE WAS what Neverland was all about..:(

Think about Disney - did the magic die after Disney died? No- it flourished because Disney's spirit and dreams continued with all those parks.

The same with Michael's Neverland- his dream was to bring happiness and joy to underpriviledged children and so if they re-open Neverland for that purpose his dreams will also continue. The spirit of Michael will always live within that magical place.

So such project to turn Neverland to a park, attraction etc would require

- agreement of the neighbors and the local government to change the zoning
This was the first thing I thought. Will the neighbors would allow this? Why the Neverland would constantly visited by many, many, many people every day.

I signed it. I would like to see this place full of children having fun and loving the place, filling it with smiles and laughter. I agree that it would take some doing but during the time michael lived there the neighbors had no problem with people going there, they shouldn't now. The beighbors don't complain at Graceland.

I hope this happens and is used for all children all over the world.

nice but quite hard to achieve.

First of all Neverland is 2 hours away from LA and the road that goes there is a county road which is narrow and not suitable for high amounts of traffic. It's reported that the neighbors (who happen to be farmers, wineries etc) are not wanting the area to become an attraction. Furthermore Neverland is now co-owned by Colony Capital.

So such project to turn Neverland to a park, attraction etc would require

- agreement of the neighbors and the local government to change the zoning
- local government willing to build or allowing you to build wider roads
- a good amount of investment to build hotels, eating establishments as well as rebuilding the park and the zoo
and so on

The narrow roads leading up to Neverland isn't really a big issue, all they would have to do is build a car park a few miles away from Neverland and run a shuttle bus up to the ranch this way there wouldn't be a big volume of traffic on the bad roads. Money isn't an issue either because if it was opened there would be an admission charge which would easily pay for the up keep. The neighbours actually don't have that big a problem with Neverland being open as far as i can see, the media have tried to paint a picture of the locals hating Neverland and wanting rid of it but there is no real proof of this and if they realised the oppurtunity this would bring to the area i can't see why they wouldn't support it.

she is doing what i would do. Neverland is a magical place. Michael loved it and deep down im sure there were parts of neverland he still loved. I would love to see it used for what Michael wanted it used for. Michael loved having kids there it would make him happy again. As hard as it would be to see Neverland like it once was i do think it would be good for it to be used as it was intended. Making children happy was what Michael was all about. Even if he isn't there his memory is. And even though i cant see Michael without Neverland or Neverland without Michael id want it to be used the way HE wanted it to be used. For the Children.
Love your post, think the same

They could also open a park or museum there for the public which could generate funds
That is a nice idea too

I support Amanda

Im confident Neverland will be open in the future, i never been there, its one of my bigest dreams to go there, im sure Michael's vibe IS there, and I would LOVE TO WALK THE SAME GRASS MICHAEL ONCE WALKED

My God, the pics of Neverland... what a Magical place its like seeing Michael.... i miss him so much :(
