I've been aware of a painting representing Hansel and Gretel in which
the witch is portrayed as Michael Jackson.
In my opinion, this is far from art, it's judgement and really
disrespectful of all Michael Jackson was as a human being,.
You say it's a tribute. A tribute is something done to celebrate the
life of someone with RESPECT. This is absolutely not a tribute. I don't
think the artist who made that would like to be represented as a child
molestor or anything close to that after his death right? Does the
artist thinks it's actually funny? Can't the people at this museum
realize they are hurting many people doing that to someone who as never
done anything close to what the piece supposes?
I also think it's really acting like a coward for the people who
decided to expose this piece after Michael Jackson's passing so he
cannot defend himself against this.
I really recommend you to take this piece out of your exhibition, let's
get the man some peace for God's sake!

Thank you for your fair comment concerning the Banksy Exhibition at the
museum, although we are sorry to learn that you do not approve of the
Hansel and Gretel painting that depicts Michael Jackson and two children
and would like it removed from the exhibition.
This exhibition brings together an exciting mix of photography,
installation, sculpture, painting and creative design. There is no
doubting the artistic talent of the artist, his work is universally
acclaimed and we are delighted with the exhibition. For many people the
artist is at the current edge of 21st century urban art and he is
internationally recognised as being amongst the world’s most
acclaimed. His work is quirky, lively, challenging, clever and above all
original.
We do appreciate that some people find his work provocative and on
occasion offensive. Throughout the history of art, artists have tackled
subjects ranging from the grotesque to the beautiful. As a major art
gallery, we believe art should challenge and create debate; we welcome
this. We have not censored this exhibition - we want people to come
along and make up their own minds and comment as you have done.
Visitor numbers have now exceeded 100,000 and the majority of the
feedback has been entirely positive. The fact that the artist has
'hidden' pieces throughout the whole museum for people to discover means
some of them are visiting parts of the museum they had not visited
before and will want to return to when the exhibition has closed.
We will pass on your comments to the artist’s agent.

I don't think you understand here.
This is not a funny provocative art piece. If you like to be disrespectful to people, don't consider it art.
What you don't understand is that it's totally disrespectful for Mr. Jackson what is portrayed in the piece.
Are you actually laughing at this? You think it's funny, you agree with what is shown there?
If you were being accused of something and found not guilty because you didn't do anything wrong, would you like someone to make an exhibit about this part of your life, laughing at it, suppose something through this?

This is not provocative, this is enormous lack of respect, don't you understand it's about a human being? Michael Jackson is not a concept or a merchandising, it's a person. And you wait until he's dead to show this piece, this is simple disgusting! You gather together and look at this piece laughing and telling stories. I repeat it, this is not art. But anyway, being stupid as you seem to be in this museum, you probably just laugh at it saying Anyway the exhibition is until 30th so whatever happens with people trying to make you realize that this is a mistake, you won't do anything..
Feel like vomiting.
Shame on you I say, simply, and may something like that happen to you and the artist too someday. This will come back to you someday.
