I think the point some are missing is that this isn't meant to be a replacement for the original short film or his legendary live performances. It’s a companion piece of art.
Even if the Estate calls it 'Official,' I choose to view it as a companion piece of art after I had watched it. To me, nothing can ever replace Michael’s own short films; they are the blueprint. And I know this is certainly not a short film. But that doesn't mean we can't have a new visual celebration [like a painting I suppose] that bridges the gap between his 80s world and today does it?
