Yeah, given the source it looks OK.It's not all bad. Looks pretty decent and, honestly, it's better than anything we could do since we don't have access to a clean, untouched transfer of the master tape. Quality is subpar on any of the DVDs, even altered in some (remastered, if you will).
Do you just want them to upscale the SD source of Wembley? It wouldn't make it more detailed.Does this mean Wembley 4K coming soon? Maybe Victory tour 4K that they teased on the T40 doc? One can dream.
True, the best would be if they found the film source but apparently it's lost forever?Do you just want them to upscale the SD source of Wembley? It wouldn't make it more detailed.
They actually don't have the SD source. The best they've got is roughly the equivalent of 150P.Do you just want them to upscale the SD source of Wembley?
Some Wembley concerts are on film but I don't think this specific one.True, the best would be if they found the film source but apparently it's lost forever?![]()
There have been rumours for years that they actually managed to locate the tape master a year after the DVD was released. If that's true, will they ever let us know and replace the messed up VHS copy with that? I don't think so.They actually don't have the SD source.
All the material from the Wembley concerts (except APOM) has been lost, theoretically. Some Wembley concerts are in film but I don't think his specific one.
That is probably true but I want to think that they might have a lot of the material. Maybe not enough for a full concert release. If they have the "outtakes" of Another Part of Me music video then its likely that they or Warner have Moonwalker Man in the Mirror "outtakes" too.All the material from the Wembley concerts (except APOM) has been lost, theoretically.
Yeah, not enough for a full concert is credible. However, if I remember correctly, WB still owns the negatives of Moonwalker. If anything, the Estate could only possess prints of the live concert bits on the movie. That is probably true but I want to think that they might have a lot of the material. Interesting, might be true.My twitter follower told me this may be the part of promotion for OTW Mobile Fidelity Hybrid SACD and Vinyl which will come out next week. so we might be able to have hope for the remaster of Don’t Stop and She’s out of my life too.
Well, (1) I don't think the estate are even aware of the MoFi release. And even if they were, they definitely wouldn't want to promote it.My twitter follower told me this may be the part of promotion for OTW Mobile Fidelity Hybrid SACD and Vinyl which will come out next week. so we might be able to have hope for the remaster of Don’t Stop and She’s out of my life too.
I don’t feel any necessity of upscale from SD to 4k too but I evaluate their remaster this time becouse some artist’s managements like oasis or Queen (Miracle era) are using ai upscale too much and these looks unnatural often for me.I mean, since it’s not possible to get a true 4K upscale of the original video, this certainly could’ve been worse. I don’t see much of a difference personally, but whatever.
I’m personally skeptical for this DSD remaster by using 46 years old original analog master tape. Analog tapes gradually deteriorate, and with them the sound quality. Some artists start using another copy master or degital master to deal with this. but if they use original mastertape, it must be corrected with modern mastering techniques strongly, which are unlikely to compete with the original vinyl in 1979. In my opinion thoWell, (1) I don't think the estate are even aware of the MoFi release. And even if they were, they definitely wouldn't want to promote it.
But (2) you've hit the nail right on the head. It amazes me how people are so obsessed with getting 4K video resolution out of a 40 year old VHS tape, and yet very few people seem to care about getting high-resolution versions of the actual music itself, lol.
Get excited guys - we are about to receive the best version of the album that you ever heard!
Yeah, these videos are too far. I think the MJ video is done tastefully enough.I don’t feel any necessity of upscale from SD to 4k too but I evaluate their remaster this time becouse some artist’s managements like oasis or Queen (Miracle era) are using ai upscale too much and these looks unnatural often for me.

Yeah, they delivered a great release there so don't really have much reason to think this will be any different.I don't know man, Thriller MOFI's release was preeeetty god damn good, all i'm gonna say lol
Let's not downplay it, the MoFi SACD version of Thriller has become the standard that all other versions are judged against...I don't know man, Thriller MOFI's release was preeeetty god damn good, all i'm gonna say lol
