Taj's communication...

This whole thing (if it even exists) sounds like a big pile of boring nothing.

What's he actually gonna come out with that hasn't already been covered in Square One? I'm sorry but Taj has virtually no appeal to pull off such a spectacular documentary.

It's 5 years too late , I've said it before, once the biopic comes out and there's enough demand for the truth, let Fuqua create something for Netflix.

Give the fans their money back Taj, stop stringing them along.

Setting aside Taj burying the lede here, there’s one other bitter truth that I’ve brought up previously and will no doubt re-emerge in the near future:

This documentary will only appeal to those of us who already believe in MJ’s innocence, as the involvement of a Jackson family member will turn away damn near anyone else. Taj consistently making himself the face of the operation is dooming this thing outright, and the estate is doing the smart thing by staying as far away from it as they can.

If the Michael Jackson Estate produced this people would say its rubbish because the MJ Estate only wants to protect its brand and cash-cow (MJ) and is biased. If Taj produces it people will say its rubbish because he is family and only wants to protect the family name and also claim that Taj is making loads of money from MJ, which of course it not true, but still is an argument thats frequently used by neutrals and haters.

The option here is to not have anything done at all, as nothing has been done since 1993 and thats because nobody is interested in defending MJ as that does not make them any profit and goes against the mainstream medias narrative which is a money maker for the the entire media industry - and thus would be met by resistance.

When Jin Chohan project is released everyone that is not pro MJ already will say its biased because its made by a Michael Jackson stan while paid for by Michael Jackson fans.

People will even say the biopic is a bunch of nonsense as its backed by The MJ Estate and the Jackson family, there is just no way around it.

Would you prefer nothing over what Taj is doing? Sadly we cant force neutrals into doing a pro-MJ piece as there is nothing to gain in that for them!

Michael was acquitted of all charges so what's the point in doing a documentary on it? Real fans know the truth and it's useless doing this in order to change minds of people who believe Michael did it.

I think the vast majority of people were fully behind Taj when he announced the project. It was a really volatile period and Taj seemed so passionate and enthusiastic about what sounded like a project that could/should really torpedo the whole LN debacle.

I can only speak for myself here, but aside from the whole lack of updates etc, my biggest problem with Taj is that what was originally announced as a documentary then morphed into a 10 part series covering a lot more than just the allegations. It's so long ago now, but I recall there were chapters about the 80's and "fall of a King" and what not - this is absolutely not what I donated for. What originally was set out as a killing blow to LN then became, what will be seen as by the average person/person who believes his guilt, as a complete fluff piece by a Jackson family member. This absolutely killed the idea for me and any enthusiasm I had for it. Setting aside that this change was made after the majority of the $250k was donated, who on earth is going to watch a 10 part series about someone they think is a pedophile? Why would someone site through amount of hours on MJ's /career before getting to the crux of the matter? The average person cannot be expected to last until the final episode. This should have been a 90 minute piece that went straight for the jugular as planned.

It's easy for people to say people are "hating" on Taj or whatever, but that's not true. I totally commend him for what he has taken on, but I feel stronger about someone's ability to say "I'm out of my depth". There would be no shame in Taj simply saying he bit off more than he could chew and return the funds and walk away. What he's taken on is a massive job. It was big to begin with, and he kept unnecessarily making it bigger. Even in his latest update, the site is delayed because "it has become a lot bigger and better than initially planned. " Why does a website need to be bigger and better? What is going to be the point of this website? Exclusive updates about upcoming updates?

It's been over 5 years since the Gofundme was set up with nothing to show for it except for a few family photos.

I think it's a shame that Taj has allowed himself to be found in this position. A lot of people are justifiably angry. He has missed a lot of promised deadlines and as a consequence all of the positive energy and work he did back in March/April 2019 is long forgotten. I believe he has good intentions, but I think that his inadequacy and inexperience has clouded his better judgement here and it's unfortunately caused another unnecessary divide in a fanbase that has more than enough unnecessary divisions.

What's even more unfortunate is the apparent echo-chamber Taj seems to have built around himself on X regarding the project. He has been blocking people who have raised valid questions and called him for for X when he has promised X, Y and Z. This is an absolute no-no for me, no matter who you are. If you can't face valid questions and/or criticism without resorting to childish blocking and referring to people as "haters", then you are not the right fit. That's my opinion.

No one here wants to see Taj fail, because it benefits no one except the accusers and the detractors. But Taj needs to realise that while he may be approaching this with the very best intentions and energy available to him, what he produces also has the potential to have a negative impact on matters if this is not a direct and effective response to March 2019.

Honestly, yeah. I’d rather a neutral party similar to the Square One director put something together.

Do you consider a Michael Jackson fan setting out to make a documentary to clear Michael Jacksons name with a documentary funded by Michael Jackson fans donations, promoted by MJ fans, interviewing mostly Michael Jackson fans to be neutral? I guess we have a different way of seeing whats neutral.

If everyone had expressed themselves in the civil and constructive manner you used for this post then we would have much less friction in the fan base. Its possible to question Taj and his project without resorting to bullying and mocking him and anyone that does not jump on the "fry Taj bandwagon"!

I cant even find any original post of what Tajs first said he would do with the project as its not available on the gofundme page anymore. What I can see is that he spoke of it as series already in 2020.

I agree that he shoot himself in the foot giving any kind of deadlines as he has never finished a project like this and thus can not be expected to know how long things will take. Especially as the funding of the project was pulled when the investor backed out since someone higher up did not want to contribute to anything pro-MJ.

Regarding the echo-chamber, I have seen alot of people abusing Taj and then getting blocked which was correct. I dont know if anyone has been blocked simply for asking questions without being mean and insulting while doing it. I would have to see evidence of people being blocked and what they wrote before I throw Taj under the bus on that as I have seen him spoke about that and why he blocked certain people. As of now its Taj said vs they said. Considering the toxic climate on twitter and the toxic responses here I dont doubt that a lot of these people deserved to be blocked.

If you can not deliver questions without being mean and insulting then you dont deserve any answers either! It will be up to these people claiming Taj blocked them for no good reason to back it up by evidence, which I have seen nothing of yet.

People are expecting Taj to make a 11 part docu series with twice the running time of Leaving Neverland including 2 years of pandemic. (Leaving Neverland took about 5 years to complete)

When Dan Reed was a veteran film-maker with a crew ready to go and massive financial backing with HBO when Taj had to create a team from scratch and make a film project for the first time in his life without funding.

If Taj would be doing the project in the same speed Reed did his Taj would be ready aprox 2029 and if we take out a year because of full time covid restrictions which Reed did not face he could be finished 2030.

A lot of the negativity spiraling out of control is because people have had unrealistic expectations from the beginning and started complaining almost immediately which in itself has created negativity and now the same people are feeding off that energy and its almost if they want the project to fail to be able to say they were right!

I said the exact same thing on a few pages back

Ive been watching all this unfold and havent said much about it.

I met Taj in the summer of 2008 when he was in England with his brothers and dad for the disaster that was the TV show project cooked up by Matt Fiddes.

As well as the fan event in Devon, Taj also arranged a fan meet up in London a few weeks later. This meet up was in a public side area of a hotel and it was a fun afternoon with fans. Taj spoke about various things, and showed us some footage he had on his laptop. For those of us who lived in London it was something fun to do on a Saturday afternoon.

Anyways, to this venture that Taj has got himself involved in.

My opinion is that Taj is a well meaning person who wants to do right by Michael. Of all the family members of his generation , he was the closest to Michael, both personally and because of the success of 3T, mainly in Europe. From the success of 3T, he became active with the fan communities and got some of the cross over from Michaels fan community. All through the years, he has kept his connections and links to the fan community active.

With this venture , my opinion is that it started off as comment, a part of a conversation, a why don't you do something thing. He said, oh yes I could, but then things started growing and getting more extravagate and out of control. Five years ago, he started on something which has now gone far beyond what the original idea was, and far beyond his capabilities. I see Taj as a project manager, the one who is co ordinating things, getting different people involved who have the skills and knowledge to execute the various aspects.

In my opinion, it started with no real plan, no storyboard, no cohesive direction as to the overall end result. This has ended up with money being wasted on various aspects which at the time fitted in with what they wanted, but are now no longer suitable for how the project is currently.

Taj has no formal academic business management skills, no formal academic project management skills, has not been involved at corporate level in a large scale project. He has life skills and lived experience of the industry as artist signed to an international music company.

At this stage, 5 years in, its not the ground breaking documentary like Exposing R Kelly or Quiet On Set that streaming services will finance. Its a pet project of an industry Nepo Baby.

Why brandi has had a hard time telling her truth? which
It’s been 5 years since LN. While the doc could still theoretically be completed the effectiveness and cultural impact have greatly diminished.
truth is that?

I feel like finding Neverland (5hr) doc was everything needed to be said. There's literally no need for Taj's doc after watching that. Hell I even cried watching it & I've seen it 3x showing others.
Which documentary is that? I did google it and all it came was LN

Taj could briefly and succinctly present the most important facts about the allegations in a podcast. Without charging huge amounts of money and straining the patience of the fans.

The Michael Jackson Case for Innocence Podcast

tells every thing, nothing else is necessary
Janet already made her documentary. I don't think she cared about making that one, let alone this other stuff. But IMO.

Its a little unfair to say the family don't care about Michael, when they were literally there with him, in actual COURT. Responding to any and every bad piece of press or comment is, silly.... And also what Taj is busy doing instead of making a documentary.

The truth is, the biopic matters more than this flick. And so does a successful court case. Sue Taj later, if the Kickstarter truly leads to nothing.
Which Janet's documentary are you talking about?

And this is why I’m out of here. This board really has gone down the drain. Nothing but negativity and insults and no moderation.
Like, what I said was let's judge people for what they do and perhaps what they say, and not for who they are.

Just because you're related to somebody "famous" doesn't make you immune from doing wrong. And if you do, you should definitely be called out on it.

Like, I hope he does a good job, and if he does I will praise him for it. But I'm not gonna give him a pass because "it must be difficult" or whatever. And the fact remains that in the history of filmmaking, nobody has ever taken anything seriously that had a "go fund me" page, lol. Ew.

This thing is 10 episodes? Is that not a little over ambitious for someone of little to no experience? When do you think this 10 episode series will be released?
Yeah, that's what I said before

This thing is literally longer than the Lord Of The Rings trilogy! Lol. How does that even make sense?

If it was perhaps 2 parts, maybe 3, then that would be fair enough. But who even has time to watch something this long and drawn out? And who's gonna get through to part 8 of this thing and not get bored of hearing the same thing again and again? It's literally just gonna be a bunch of people saying "I love MJ and he's great and I think he's innocent".

This documentary will only appeal to those of us who already believe in MJ’s innocence, as the involvement of a Jackson family member will turn away damn near anyone else.
Exactly. He's basically poisoning his own project.

I feel stronger about someone's ability to say "I'm out of my depth". There would be no shame in Taj simply saying he bit off more than he could chew and return the funds and walk away. What he's taken on is a massive job. It was big to begin with, and he kept unnecessarily making it bigger.
Yeah, it's a classic case of project creep. And by the time this has gone over-budget, it's gonna cost a couple of million, lol. That happens a lot with inexperienced people.

Why does a website need to be bigger and better? What is going to be the point of this website? Exclusive updates about upcoming updates?
A website is supposed to be one paragraph to promote a movie and that's it.

Instead, it sounds like he's gonna announce his announcements, lol.

Makes you wonder what he's gonna do on camera when he's interviewing somebody and they say something he doesn't like. Just cut it and walk away, lol.

At this stage, 5 years in, its not the ground breaking documentary like Exposing R Kelly or Quiet On Set that streaming services will finance. Its a pet project of an industry Nepo Baby.
Exactly. And if nobody wants to fund it, maybe that should be telling him something.

Michael was acquitted of all charges so what's the point in doing a documentary on it? Real fans know the truth and it's useless doing this in order to change minds of people who believe Michael did it.
Accusers recanting the charges would be the most beneficial thing of all.

lets just wait for his website which is coming """soon""". i think it will reveal many information ;)

Taj documentary is not needed after this!

What documentary is it? I can only see the following :)
