The Black Keys pissed at Michael Jackson due to XSCAPE chart position.

John Branca responds

OH NO THEY DIDN’T: The Black Keys’ duel with Michael Jackson to rule this week’s album chart just got very personal. Having already dissed Epic’s new from-the-vault set, XSCAPE, the band’s Patrick Carney told MTV News, “It’s the classic story of Dan [Auerbach] and I. We want to have a #1 album, but Michael Jackson releases something from the grave and cockblocks us.” In a prior interview with Rolling Stone, Carney referred to XCAPE as “some ****ing bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable. Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released.” Classy, right? “They are trashing an album they haven't even listened to,” Jackson estate manager and uber-attorney John Branca shot back, adding, “We are formally extending to them an offer of four free tickets to the Michael Jackson ONE show in Las Vegas so they can continue their education.” Stay tuned for updates on this throwdown, and keep an eye on our Album Sales Chart as the two records tussle for the top spot. GOD I just hope Xscape beats them!! - I would be so happy!!

Buy Xscape everyone!! Do it, not because I'm asking you to, do it because it's the right thing to do!! (intro from Birchey's HMH amazing song!)

God they never shut up when their last album came out they were wining "we aren't we bigger", I like their music but they need to man up

^_^ Hey, it's the teenage way. At least I didn't go ballistic on her for wanting the black keys album in the first place. I could've done way worse. But you wouldn't know that, huh?

 :lmao: Kmsl, you have me laughing harder than ever and I'm supposed to be doing my homework! That has made my day x'D

What the Black Keys are doing is very clever, riding their album against the back of MJs Xscape by publicly bashing it, to get it notice so they can sell a few more copies out of the back of the controversy.
It's a shame really.

Mind you they weren't the first, and wont be last.

And, so it goes on….

One thing will always be known to the world, and thats Michael Jackson is the King of Pop!

It wouldn't piss me off Coldplay leading the charts, they can still make more new music and Michael can't compete fairly for obvious reasons. At least you don't see them being jerks towards anybody like shit keys. As long as Xscape has longevity in the charts and sell more copies than that bunch of attention whores, shit keys, I don't mind if it's not #1.

Some folks will say their cd is no good. Either way, MJ makes these idoits look pitful. MJ has songs almost older than these guy that was release on a cd and is doing just as good a new written song by them. Black keys are acting scared.

Oh my gosh... hahaha.

pissed because Will-I-am wasn't asked producing any of the songs

What is their problem anyways? Do they not like Michael or they didn't see him as competition? Either way it is very unprofessional. Coldplay are respectable artists and are respectful period so it doesn't matter to me that they will be #1 the next week. Good for them.

just caught my name scrolling down, yeah awesome speech from MJ!

Is Xscape number 1 in more countries than The Keys current album?

^^ Hopefully that lead stays:clapping:

Both titles are trending upward and look set to finish in the low 160s. In a race this tight, any number of usually marginal factors—including vinyl—could make a big difference.

Again.

Vinyl sales are very low. THEY will not make the difference. :)

I'm glad Xscape has sold more copies so far but where's Coldplay?

Coldplay won't show up until next week's charts, their album only came out in America today I think. That's why The Black Keys are so desperate to get #1 this week - they don't stand a chance against Coldplay who are pretty much guaranteed #1 for next week's charts.
