The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Anyone have the files for DL on these new leaks. Much appreciated if so. It’s a good day kids!

So far, “Remember What I Told You” is the standout for me. So simple and so clearly incomplete, but the melody and harmonies are just gorgeous. His quality control was hit or miss, but my god, his melodic instincts were still razor sharp.

“Adore You” is alright. The juxtaposition between the religious lyricism and the almost spinster production throws me a bit, but the choir arrangement in the back half is killer. It almost evokes a cult worship scene in a horror movie if that makes sense.

“World of Candy” is really bad. Lovely melody, but it seems like MJ was only capable of writing children’s songs from a 1960s/1970s perspective. This would’ve fit brilliantly in, say, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but in 2003? He would’ve gotten torn to shreds for this.

“Neverland Landing” is very much the same, though it’s owed some leeway by nature of it being from 1983. Again, not my type of song, but still very well-written and would’ve been right at home with a Peter Pan movie from that era.

What an insane couple of hours.

Not too much on Neverland. Neverland is easily one of Michael's better tracks

Adore You:

Neverland Landing (rip):

Remember What I Told You (rip)

From Motif about WOC:
ok so adez sold this first mp3 to someone for thousands of dollars and fucked with the speed pitch, put a fake watermark on the intro, all the shit (got proof of him admitting it also)

the "Speed Corrected 2" file is an edit I made that more closely resembles how it's supposed to go, removes the fake bullshit, has the speed nearly correct (compared to an untampered snippet of the song I have)

World Of Candy 🥀

The link of World of Candy "corrected" doesn't work for me. Says it has an incorrect encryption key. Can you take a look at this? Thanks.

Gotta disagree here. It’s not bad by any means, but I don’t think it particularly stands out. I think it’s a serviceable song that would’ve played a decent role in any movie.

Doesn't stand out, I agree. But it's easily one of his nicer tracks. I'm actually surprised we went this long without hearing it. I'd easily listen to it multiple times. I agree with your other takes. Adore You is exactly how I thought it'd be, and Remember What I Told You is the best that never truly was.

It’s just got an ease and a breeze to it that everything MJ touched in this era had. It’s what makes this work while World of Candy feels like…. The opposite of that.

Remember What I Told You in particular makes me sad knowing it was possibly the last track he recorded any vocals for. And the fact that we'll never get to know what it could've been makes me sad. And what makes it worse is that the last line is literally "Please let me go". Like COME ON 😭
