The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Yeah, but I was basing my tracklist on stuff Michael worked on post-03. So Xscape and BG would have to be held off for the Xscape Album. We know APWNN was worked on by Neff-U so that would fit as a track Michael dug out of the vault.
It’s to my understanding he did want more done with Xscape and BG both. But even if they fudge it, does it matter. They’re post-Invincible and less random than Much Too Soon and Behind The Mask, much as I love em. Save those for the “Xscape” album, whatever Timbaland and co decide to make.

I'm bored someone leak Boy No

The leak of “Neverland Landing” sounds very ‘86 with the drum machine featured - the Linn 9000 - that was used on a lot of Bad-era songs including Cheater, APOM and MITM. Must be a complete re-recording of the ‘83 song.
True. I wonder now though if this mix may be from sometime around '84-'85, before Spielberg abandoned the Peter Pan film. The Linn 9000 existed during that time.

It's listed nowhere in the 1986 session calender from Bill Bottrell so I believe it's from anywhere between January and September 1985 (particularly July where they took up temporary residence at Westlake - hence the real strings).

alternatively the 1986 date was a misremembering and this version is actually from 1989, since rumors say it was revisited around that time.

I thought about it some more actually, and you’re right.

So here’s what we’ll do:

Instead of Xscape and BG, we’ll borrow a move from the Estate playbook:

Cheater
Beautiful Girl
That’s 10 songs still. And we can have 3 controversial ones. Simply for being heard before, not for being forgeries lol.

So

1. Hold My Hand ft Akon
2. Hollywood
3. The Way You Love Me
4. Best of Joy
5. Cheater (ft 50 cent)? —If Michael had actually wanted to work with him, we could have a modern rapper from 2010 there.
5. All In Your Name ft Barry Gibb
6. Beautiful Girl (Might need a featured artist to complete)
7. Gloucestershire
8. The Loser
9. Lady of Summer (Classical Recording)
10. Remember What I Told You
11. I'm Dreamin' ft Will.i.am

This way the songs can still be promoted with featured alive artists who worked with michael and were planning to work with him.

If we’re actually gonna do this, it should be

Xscape
She Was Loving Me
Hold My Hand
The Way You Love Me
Blue Gangsta
The Loser
A Place With No Name
Hollywood Tonight
Remember What I Told You
Best of Joy

That’s the best we’ve gotten in this timeline and are aware, the most logical collection of stuff that scratches the itch of what was worked on in his final years.
Cheater
She Was Loving Me
Hold My Hand
The Way You Love Me
Beautiful Girl
The Loser
A Place With No Name
Hollywood Tonight
Remember What I Told You
Best of Joy

Will.I.Am would not offer any songs. Instrumentals are non admissible. Gloucestershire has no words. Barry Gibb wouldn’t have the song ready in time.

And MJ wouldn’t start the record with a slow ballad.

One question I have is why Michael continued working on songs that had already been released, such as "Beautiful Girl" and "The Way You Love Me," while completely abandoning songs he loved, like "Hold My Hand" and "Xscape," after the leak?

Do we have any other information on Thank Heaven?

That snippet really came out of nowhere. Michael can clearly be heard singing. Is it among the Water and Monster category of rarities?

Same can be asked about Light The Way, but no MJ vocals confirmed so far

MJ spoken intro and the rest of the song is sung by a female vocalist + choir. Motif already leaked the lyrics of MJ's intro:

I'm pretty sure "Thank Heaven" is one of the songs that are bound to get leaked soon. Personally I couldn't care less about listening to this one lol.

The Sunset driver we have was reworked in 86 with the thriller vocals

Alright, I'm going to be so honest and realistic from a fan standpoint, these leaks haven't been good for me mentally and I don't know if any of you feel the same way. It's like, constantly being on the verge of waiting and receiving, only to want more, has been so annoying and exhausting. It's like you are expecting something every hour and its a game of maybe, because either something does come or it doesn't and if something does then you might not be satisfied with it.

I know, it sounds pathetic to care this much about someone's unfinished music who probably doesn't want this stuff to be out and we're probably enabling someone's privacy being invaded by begging and waiting over and over. It's just not healthy, hearing something new from Michael is fun and all but it doesn't feel proper to recieve in this manner and constantly too.

Maybe I'll take a break from paying attention, its going to be hard though because a part of me still wants to sit, talk, and be attentive, but staying glued to tech waiting for crap like this is just not okay.

Sorry for the mini-vent, I shared in hopes you all can relate.

Your life doesn't revolve around MJ stuff. I bet you have a bunch of hobbies and interests. How about you just do something else? Play a game, read a book, eat a snack.

Not a jab, but some people here should really stop acting like getting MJ stuff is their whole routine.

It was hard even in Michael's life post-Invincible. Imagine you finally hear about the comeback, only for it to never happen. From that standpoint, with Michael alive there was always something in the news. I remember when he walked on stage at the 06 Music Awards, and the news said he was trying to be Christ-like becuase of the way he put his hands out. Since Michael's passing, as fans, we have been spoiled more than we ever were by music. From the emotional This is It Documentary, The Michael Album and its controversies, the Cirque Shows, Xscape, Bad 25, THE CHALK from OTW...Since 2018, the Estate has been focused on riding the storm from the "fake news" Leaving Neverland.

The products from the Estate have been hit or miss. I appreciate what we have gotten, and I wish we could have more, proper releases, in-depth interviews, and behind-the-scenes concerts in 4k. This week, while what we have seen leak has been far from perfect quality-wise ("World of Candy could use a better mix, and real guitar"), this week finally felt like a lead-up to something. The biopic is coming, and it's once again an exciting time to be a fan of Michael.

One day, the vault will be dry of new vocals and materials, but I'm happy to have heard it. It's not perfect, but it's what we have left.

No one can ever give Two legitimate reasons to dislike it 🙂↕️
1) 2010 Mix
2) There were - to my surprise - literally no complains in the chat that the "Who You Gonna Call Who Can't Mix" sounded bad.

By that logic the 2014 album mix can be legitimately disliked. 🙂↕️

I used to be sooo obsessed back then too. Touching grass unironically is such a godsent activity.

(I know it doesn't look like I do, but I do I swear)

Yes yes exactly, and it's not that I don't have other things but because I've been so bored as of recent in general (I've been stuck at home for about three weeks with another 2-3 coming up when college break is over), games got boring, nothing new or interesting to watch on YT. Not that I haven't been out with friends time to time because I have, but these past few days it's just been me at home and all these leaks entertaining me and exciting me but it's gotten to a point where I've kinda just crashed and realize waiting feels miserable and unhealthy.

Wow, how long have you been a fan for? You're amazing for sticking around this long.

Fall in love with a girl who’s avoidant. Become trauma bonded and tell her you love her. Then chase her for several months. Also go to the gym.

He was in better mindsets for both those songs leaks. He was completely occupied during the Ultimate Collection phase. Also he didn’t completely abandon either of those songs.

I remember Invincible Promo very young at my Grandma's house, but didn't grasp who MJ was until the 05 Trial and I've probably been a fan since then. There are definitely people here who have been a fan decades and decades longer before me.

This is probably the promo I saw:
