The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

RE: Somwhere in Time.

I was suspicious Michael solo wrote the song with zero input from anyone, but I don't think that's really a debunk. At the least it should include Michael in some capacity, no? So I did some more digging myself. This Sean Hosein guy didn't start doing anything music related until 1989, meaning his credits are likely to do with that specific version of the song only. This appears true of Dane DeViller as well. Steve Kipner began writing music in 1979, so it's possible he co-wrote it with Michael. But you know what's equally possible? None of them had anything to do with it and they just completely reworked the track for the Glennis Grace album and took credit. Whether or not they knew MJ was involved at all is up in the air. Someone would need to contact one of these guys to find out what's what.

Edit: I emailed Dane DeViller and Steve Kipner explaining the situation. Hopefully one of them replies out of curiosity.

Soooo... anyone made out who the female singer is at the end of Innocent Man? She sings along Michael's harmonies, "innocent maaaaan".

My first reaction was she sounds like Janet, but its way too short to tell. No idea if the credits on the song gives it away?

Thank you for sharing and for looking into it!

It’s a beautiful song, but it definitely doesn’t sound like an MJ track in terms of songwriting. I can’t put my finger on it, but it feels a bit grander than he usually was. Very curious to see the outcome.
