I hope by the next album the whole thing is songs we've already heard. That would be quite an achievement for the fan community and also hurt the sales of the album which can give the estate some karma for taking too long
 

Hey @mjfp, in the description of your BoJ mix you mention it uses segments of the original demos of the song, apart from the beginning of the third verse does that mean it uses other parts of the 2008 demo too? Does the intro come from The Toy or does it come from the 2008 demo?

Yes. Though it could take a while for it to happen; snippets of TYLA and the 1987 demo of SPYHO leaked in 2018 but the full songs only came to leak 2 years later. It's hard to predict exactly when they'll leak.

Does someone have TYLA in the same quality of the snippets

Man, now I want to know what other reels you own, so I can add that info to my session calendar project (which is a list of when songs were recorded).

As far as I'm aware, most if not all the work on that track was done during the Bad sessions in 1986. It was revisited again for Dangerous, but little to no work was retained from that period. So, it basically exists in the Bad era state, soley.

I'm inclined to believe the January 1989 tape was simply a mix of the track.
 
Speaking of Loving You real quick, am I the only one who notices quite some wow at the beginning of the original demo?

It's quite annoying to me. I grabbed a copy of the iTunes version of the album, took the song and fixed the wow using iZotope and that's my go-to version for listening now.

The Best of Joy redux was mixed with segments and instruments from the Thriller, Dangerous, 2008 and 2010 Version of the song (actually some things are so quiet that you can't really hear them in the final mix). The Intro uses segments from the 1981 and 2008/2010 version.

actually, the 2014 CD version is less distorted than the digital version. I only have the CD, Vinyl and Qobuz version so idk if it sounds any different.

yeah it's a real sign that the Estate is incompetent at transferring tapes, which should not be what they're known for.

I had no idea there were people who had the 1991 version of BoJ lol, good to know ig. Thanks for clarifying!
