The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

So "Dream Away" existing now means we need to discard all previous knowledge on the grounds that anything is possible ?
This definitely changes things.

I remember in 2012 when I'm So Blue and Song Groove were announced on Bad 25, it shocked everyone on the forum because they'd never been mentioned and frankly didn't seem to exist.

I imagine there must be quite a few demos in the the hands of collaborators like Steve Pocaro, that we know nothing about. I'll bet Matt Forger, Brad Buxer and Michael Prince have lots of gems lying around

BB/MP definitely have some unheard stuff lying around, reminder that Michael Prince mentioned Craze on the MJCast which was a completely unknown title at the time like it was nothing lol. I bet they certainly have more.

Not sure if we had this piece of information before, but Michael's demo version of "Joy" supposedly "was originally fast, like a disco version of the song".
Just randomly came across this podcast with Levi Little, a member of Blackstreet, where he talks about it.

Nice to have some insight on the track. I'd love to hear whatever version Mike and Teddy left.

I love Blackstreet's version, espicially the official video version, it feels so rich and warm. I'd love to hear prime Michael vocals all over that

Thank you for sharing mate

Great find.

Craze I think Damien said it's instrumental

Off topic, but do Mike and Bruce both say 'Black or White' as 'Black AND White' here..?

Great find!

I always liked “Joy” and thought MJ would sound exquisite over the Blackstreet instrumental. Very curious to hear a “disco” version.

I'm adjusting the tempo to match Blackstreets version, when Mike's version one day appears!

Not fully serious, I can actually imagine this song going fast with Michael jamming to it. But I've always dreamt of the exact same version of Blackstreet's, but with Michael singing it smoothly

Btw, this story and development reminds me of of Someone Put Your Hand Out went from fast to slow as well

Does anyone know the legitimacy of the rumour that MJ recorded The Beatles/ George Harrison track 'Not Guilty' during HIStory?

Apparently it features a rap verse from Notorious B.I.G, which I find very hard to believe

I haven't heard this, personally. I mean, Biggie did have a verse on "This Time Around", so we know MJ had the connection, but no clue about a second track.

This doesn't make sense because in Late 1983 at the hayvenhurst interview Michael Jackson said he is working on two songs hes excited about (one buffallo bill) and he says Liberian Girl

did Michael ever record any christmas themed songs after J5? i remember reading that there was an unreleased one made in mid-90s during the history era but wasnt sure about it

Yes it's same song used in home alone movie but MJ did not recorded his vocals

I heard that on first watch too, I assume Mike was too polite to correct Bruce.

I like the way (you love me 😅) Bruce kind of teases Michael with the pronunciation of Dangerous, Bruce says it like how Mike sings it in the record. You can Mike kinda smile at him about it

Side note, Bruce's input and abilities were deeply underrated. The man was brilliant and seemed like a genuine friend to Michael

Yeah I think you are right!
(it wouldn't make sense that it was called 'Black and White' anyway, especially not at that stage)

Haha I noticed that too, Danger-ouss!

Absolutely! A true professional!

Bruce was an important and irreplaceable member of MJ’s musical entourage. He doesn’t get enough credit for helping keep MJ in check when assembling the track listings for Dangerous and HIStory. His absence on Invincible is prominent.

What do you mean? Bruce wasn’t absent on Invincible.
