If this is true. Did he change it drastically or was it just a little bit modernised and are the lyrics (mostly) the same?

I'm not sure how much he has changed it but the people who heard it said it's better than the Bad version. Also the lyrics are the same, he just re-sang the vocals.
 
Michael barely recorded anything in "full" in his final years, yet you want us to believe he re-recorded Cheater just before he died, a song which requires strong vocals and layers?

A lot of those "insiders" in the "trading" community are teenagers who like to pretend

I said that he didn't finish it (production wise), but he re-sang most of the vocals.

Im just saying, they probably extracted the lead vocals on Cheater, did some tuning, some mixing and trixing, and boom; fooled
