This has been a whirlwind of leaks, most of which happened while I was asleep. I'd like to single out Innocent Man and Rocker in particular as being must-haves, both sound insanely good and make me wonder why he didn't finish either of them (I guess other tracks just took priority - or there was a trial about to come in the case of the latter).

tbh I don't expect the Will.i.am tracks being outstanding, but other than that MJ could have delivered probably his best album considered he'd teamed up again with Barnes and Bottrell. And there's oc Buxer and Porcaro; and he'd even reached out to Rod Temperton at some point.😥
 
My personal thoughts on each leak:

Not impressed with Innocent Man, never expected much of the song either. I can see why Michael shelved it. I don't vibe with the melody, to me the drums sound out of place with the song. And in terms of vocals since that's practically all the songs has then I don't see how the song can impress me any further. Cool to hear it, though.

The choir snippet from Changes is stellar, this is the part I wanted to hear the most too, plus Michael singing "can't cope with these changes" which I'm glad it has also been leaked. I feel like I can move on from this song now lol

Rocker is cool, but it sounds the same as the snippet that leaked a while back. I thought that one was tempered with A.I? Does this have A.I as well?

the Adore You snippets sound amazing but I wish it was in higher quality, it's a bit hard to make out what's being heard. Crazy that some of the recreations on Youtube appear to be quite accurate.

Dark Lady is... completely unlike what I expected which isn't necessarily a bad thing, sounds like a hip-hop song even. Need to hear more to form a concrete opinion on it, I hope there's more snippets on the way. Surreal that we're even hearing it, thought this track would remain obscure forever lol.

Remember What I Told You. Possibly my personal favorite. 3 of the songs that leaked (Dark Lady, Rocker, and Adore You) were on the top of my list but this still has my undivided attention. What a beautiful song, and it has more in common with Speechless than what I imagined, the strings sound quite alike. And I love the harmonies. This song is seriously heartwarming, I hope the Estate releases this one day. It deserves to be heard by fans.

These last few days have been so crazy, man. It hasn't even sunk in that we're finally hearing these songs to begin with lol

Tbf tho, it seems to be tampered with quite a bit. Can’t say anything on this one.

Remember What I told you is a holy grail for me now too, it’s just so beautiful.

Innocent man has a complety different vibe to it than I expected, but I dig it. Cool vocals. Wish the other snippets were in this quality too.

Changes is just supercool, really takes you to church. Same with Adore You which is just so haunting, very cool.

Rocker is dope but too short and low quality to really have a true opinion on it.

i saw someone say on twitter that the date for Remember What I Told You is June 15 2009??
do we have any source for that or are people just saying whatever? i thought Damien said its 08

I remember for the longest time I thought that MJ was not even working on anything towards the end. Looking back at all the info we have gotten since then, that he was actually actively working on stuff and making plans. Awesome to hear what he was doing.

Where did these snippets come from? I am at work atm so will listen to when home, I'm assuming these songs will blow my mind since the current state of the music industry is poor and modern songs are done with hardly any effort. Would really like to find out where the snippets come from and if there is anyway to get more?
 
It's hard for me to really form an opinion on any of these songs because they are just snippets. So maybe my take is wrong. But here it goes:

Nothing here seems radio-friendly and completed. These are really only "hits" and "gems" in the eyes of die hard MJ fans like us.

So since these don't fit the completed criteria of the Estate, AND they are not anything that would become a hit, the Estate has zero interest ever releasing these songs. These won't make much money. And for the E$tate, that's all the matters.

What are you supposed to do with songs that are not radio-friendly and not completed enough?

I guess you could release a box set, but for the Estate, it's not worth the time, effort, and money.

My assumption is that these all come from the same source - the 2012 SME hack. Can explain why otherwise-unreachable tracks have somehow ended up in the hands of collections.

I suspect that at least "Just Remember" and "Rocker" may have come from the Making HIStory with MJ seminar from 2022, the same seminar that songs like "Water", "Michael's Affirmation", and "Adore You" came from. Brad Buxer and Michael Prince were in good spirits that day so they let the audience pick whatever songs they wanted to hear. The recordings appear to be in similar quality too.

That means the full recordings of those are in the hands of some people. Only a matter of time until they all leak I guess.
