The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Is it confirmed that the tape was sold for $50K? I don’t go on eBay often so I don’t know how they go about these things, but it says $50K or best offer. Maybe somebody pitched lower.

I've no idea where else to post this but this sounds incredible. I love how it uses the section that was also shown in the Deepak Chopra interview which usually gets glossed over. Feels like I'm listening to the full real track.
I wonder what ever happened to the CD Chopra had and showed during his interview

bro spent 55k on that just to let it rot on a shelf in his house.
Definitely not worth 50+K for a poor quality cassette copy.

The collection of DAT tapes that were found by a police officef a year ago were offered for 60k(iirc?) had same songs and a few more.

I would love for “Call it Off” and “All the Truth” to come out somehow. I know there are varying opinions on giving his unreleased music to other artists, but since his vocals were intended as features I think there’s a separate conversation to have. Maybe give them to artists he admired and/or wanted to work with (e.g., Ne-Yo, Gaga).

Version one of 7 Digits has not been leaked at all. Most of the snippets on YouTube are from version three (the tape with the green sticker), if you consider the one hour writing session to be version two. Ultimately, it's up to the buyer to decide if that's worth the price.

That being said, the instrumental is almost identical on all of them.

What about "Don't Believe It"?

Both 7 Digits and Don't Believe It sound pretty good to me. Wonder if there are more songs Shana has besides songs we already have in full (Like Work That Body)

Define full. All Loren songs on the Grundman acetate are edits.

What about it? It's a two-minute song with multiple vocal takes. There are two or three different versions.

The public has no access to the full versions of the Loren songs intended for Dangerous. The mixes are (significantly) different, though.

Any idea if it's Shana who has been selling theae recently on ebay?

What's different about the full versions of Serious Effect and Work That Body?
There are multiple mixes. To differentiate between them, you have to understand the working relationship between Michael and Bryan. It was different with Bruce, Bill, or Brad B. Nearly all of the "mini writer demos" for Bryan's songs have Michael directing Bryan to some degree. They chat within the mixes/sessions, which makes them longer and includes breaks, among other things. The "finished" non-album mixes feature more(?) ad-libs and a different instrumental and vocal arrangement, probably due to length. As far as I know, there are no additional lyrics.

As for the tape from eBay? GHRAR has written about it nicely.

"Serious Effect (rough version) (5:35) - Complete - MJ singing the whole song. This version has not been leaked. There is a leaked version online that is edited/shorter than this version and includes a rap by LL Cool J. This version has only MJ's vocals and is longer than the leaked version.

She Got It (5:24) - Complete- MJ singing lead on the whole song and talking through the song to direct Bryan. (Edited/shorter version of this was leaked on YT)."

The big question then is, does Michael sing/rap LL's verse, or is it just ignored?

I wonder if Shana, Brad, Buxer, MP, Loren or Branca are reading this thread 🤣 they probably all do lol
