The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Such an odd song to include on an album like Invincible
Early in an album process all sorts of songs could be considered. Eventually a more cohesive vision manifests. That's what's also so interesting about the songs that are left, it's hard to really know what the 11th album would end up as. Probably not a lot of Buxer or self composed material really.

I get the whole pre production process. Just wondering what the track list would’ve been in order to include a song with that concept

I've been thinking about the album Dangerous. Why don't I talk about it?

For the Dangerous tour, Michael requested different mixes so he could hear what the songs would sound like on stage.

This included songs that hadn't been performed or that weren't initially planned, such as "Who Is It", "Dangerous", and "Will You Be There."

Most of these mixes were done by Michael's team, and they're still my favorites. They beat every other unreleased song.

Some insight on HIStory:
Did you know that Michael was afraid people would find out he couldn't perform the HIStory tour as well as he had hoped? MP wanted to set him up in a studio, but Michael was afraid that others would find out. So, he recorded the vocals in MP's private studio.
So there are actually unheard versions of rerecorded WII, WYBT AND IBT from post Dangerous era? Very interesting

Are you saying Michael re-recorded vocals for the HIStory tour? What was re-recorded besides the chorus for Scream? Everything else sounds album version.....unless I'm reading this wrong.

All the HIStory Tour vocals are straight from the original tapes. They didn't even bother to separate the lead vocal from the backing vocals for most songs!

For anyone that actually knows - There are only 2 songs that I really care about, all the rest are a gift IMO.

But are either Victory or Buffalo Bill actually believed to be in circulation? Is there any proof?

As far as I know, yes, an attempt was made to re-record the vocal tracks for the HIStory tour, but MJ stopped at "Stranger in Moscow" and abandoned the idea. Therefore, on the tour we heard the album versions.

I recall Michael Prince saying that about TII, and not HIStory.
I'm pretty sure that was for HIStory, not TII. If you look at the TII multitracks, you'll see that he sang the songs live during rehearsals.

There are - for the Dangerous World Tour. And a few more songs.

I believe this was for this is it.

I personally don’t think an 11th album would’ve appeared until a very long time after 2009.

Michael retired after Invincible knowing that the songs he wrote himself were no longer commercially viable in the eyes of the public, so I see his collaborations with Buxer as a way to fulfil a creative need without having to worry about selling albums.

I know it wasn’t his main priority at the time, but I’m certain Michael had the power to stop the release of TWYLM, Beautiful Girl and In the Back on TUC if he really cared about finishing them. He had 10 years to work on something like Hollywood Tonight, and still didn’t finish it

I’m sure there would’ve been some single releases akin to One More Chance, but they would’ve been produced by a hot producer like RedOne and not Buxer

I second this. He clearly had no creative vision or serious plans for an album outside of a plan to release basically every song as a standalone single beforehand, according to MP. The only actual planned music project he had slated for 2009/2010 was OTW 30 which despite not being even a top 3 favorite of mine that is one of my biggest disappointments. Imagine something like I can’t help it or rock with you but reimagined with people like Neyo and will.i.am. Such a shame

Tbh.. a will.i.am remix of RYW might be better left in the vault...

Yeah, if anything the tour would’ve inspired him perhaps.
