That's a good guess, but Strandläufer is any one member of the genus Calidris, which “my” bird is not.

You will want to take a look at the pompous Austernfischer, instead!

So our Austernfischer is a "beach magpie"??? I love it, because, that is EXACTLY what this bird looks like :LOL::love::love::love:

Whereas "Austernfischer" literally means "oyster fisher". I like Strandskata better! :)
