Michael is #20 on this list of music that America loves the most (and the only deceased artist to make the list).
Here's what they said about Michael.
"He lives on! Or at least he’s not forgotten, particularly in Las Vegas, where he still has hits. “Billie Jean” never gets old, apparently."

Here's a link to the list.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/08/07/upshot/music-fandom-maps.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0#future

Michael is truly the King of longevity.
He's slaying from beyond the grave, and this is just in America.
We all know that Michael is global AF.

Don't know what they meant by "particularly in Las Vegas, where he still has hits" tho.
Michael is still very popular everywhere not just Las Vegas.
Maybe they said that because the MJ ONE show is in Vegas.:)

Billboard 200 Chart Moves: Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' Album Hits Milestone 300th Week on Chart

— Michael Jackson, Thriller - No. 126 — Michael Jackson’s landmark Thriller album becomes just the 16th album to spend 300 weeks on the Billboard 200. The former No. 1, which was released in 1982, climbs from No. 165 to No. 126 in its 300th week on the tally. Thriller debuted on the list dated Dec. 25, 1982 at No. 11, and rose to No. 1 on the Feb. 26, 1983-dated tally. It spent 37 weeks at No. 1 – the most weeks at No. 1 for an album by an artist. (Only the soundtrack to West Side Story spent more weeks atop the list: 54.)

Thriller is easily Jackson’s longest-charting album. It’s well ahead of his second-longest running effort, the 2003 greatest hits album Number Ones, with 220 weeks.

MJD updated his new site with Thriller's WW sales: 65.8M. The second highest-selling album is Pink Floyd's The Wall at 43.3M. He'll do the CSPC score for Thriller and MJ's other albums soon. Thriller will be by a massive margin the biggest CSPC album ever released.

He also went through MJ's USA album sales from his Epic releases, which you can see here (it includes an estimated 30M digital single sales from Off The Wall-Invincible)

Just to compare:

#35 Beyoncé
#52 Justin Bieber
#58 Rihanna

I saw today that more then 14,7 mio. stream him in the month on Spotify.
He is on place 87 from all artists there, which is great and better then any other artist of his generation.

Since today I am also registerd on Spotify. I think it`s a great and easy way to stream Michaels music and to do something to keep Michaels music current.

‘Scream’ debuts at #33 on the Billboard 200 chart.

I expected this to do better. Well, we’ll see what happens.

That's because of their shitty new streaming rules that doesn't make any sense. The album should actually be #9 because it's the 9th highest selling album of the week! Who cares how many free views the singles had on youtube or spotify??

And from this article:
https://power1051.iheart.com/conten...sony-music-extend-partnership-for-recordings/

Even in a time of declining sales, the songs of Jackson, who died June 25, 2009, still generates over a million track downloads a year for the last three years running, while his album catalog still moves over 500,000 units annually. Moving over to streaming, so far this year's Jackson music has been played 1.05 billion times, of which 443 million were audio streams and 608 million were video streams. Since Nielsen Music began tracking streaming, Jackson's music has generated 3.1 billion streams, 1.2 billion in audio and 1.9 million in video. The audio streams alone translate into nearly 800,000 album consumption units.

The announcement further noted that Jackson "ranks in the top five of all catalog artists for both audio streaming and video streaming for 2017, as well as in the top 5 of all artists for the combined audio and video streaming for 2013 – 2017."
