MJ breaking records every day![]()
on Spotify first week of april 14M and theHi beltrano
Am I right in estimating that;
Prior to MICHAEL film release MJ’s streams (top 20 songs ish?) were around 10-14 million per day
And, since the release, we are talking, some days. over 40 million!?
Or have I calculated that wrong?
on Spotify first week of april 14M and the
last 3 days 43-47M.
very impressive !!That really is impressive![]()
I m not convinced neither than this Spotify thing really means something. Sure, the movie generates some interest. But at the end of the day, these Are not people paying some bucks to have a record.
Just one instance : Heaven Can Wait became a hit on streaming services since like 3/4 years? Does that made Invincible visible on the charts ? No.
TDCAU was always huge on Spotify and YT. Does that make people buying History ? Of course not.
It s like that I-tunes charts. I think It s completely obsolete by now. What does It mean that Thriller is #2, History #37, etc. In Zimbabwe, but that BOTDF is #274 ? How does It impact any charts? Is there some people really buying these albums / tracks on I-tunes ?
Even in big markets such as in France, UK, etc. How conciliate the often huge discrepancy between those I tunes charts with other streaming services, and of course with "real" official charts?
Spotify is a main thing for charts today. Heaven can wait has gained streams but not big enough to have impact on the charts, it was never in in top of MJ most streamed songs. TDCUA is only the last few weeks strong on Spotify. Thriller (song) was in the Top in UK and US-Charts and ohter markets in time of Halloween becaus of high streaming on Spotify and people buying the song on -i-Tunes.
your question: What does It mean that Thriller is #2, History #37, etc. In Zimbabwe, but that BOTDF is #274 ? How does It impact any charts? Is there some people really buying these albums / tracks on I-tunes ?
It does mean people are buying this songs or albums in digital
Michael has permant charrting albums like Thriller or Number Ones, even Bad for a long time now because of Spotify, i-tunes and physical sales but the numbers now are insane, he never had songs on the Top Ten in the Spotify charts before the biopic and of course the songs like Billie Jean will charting in offical music-charts.
