The Official 'Michael' Bio-Pic Thread

This guy watches the Michael movie for the 10th time today in Italy 🫶:D

I just followed him on twitter for his dedication to the cause

"Tonight I'm going to the cinema to see Michael for the tenth time! Yes, you read that right, 10! Those who follow me on Instagram know, I basically post about it there. For me, it's the concert I wasn't able to attend, and I'm definitely not stopping at 10! LONG LIVE THE KING"

He has always supported Michael, he's his biggest inspiration as a dancer.

All this is a massive thumbs up for MJ’s genius and his humanity 🤗

Also, it’s a big “screw you!” to;

The predominantly white anti MJ media.

The lying turncoat scum trying to make money (years and years after his death)

The haters, the guilters, the shaders, the pretenders.

A big “screw you” from millions of MJ fans and millions of the ‘free-thinking’ general public! 👌💪

You all tried to destroy he greatest artist to ever live - and you failed, over and over again. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

MJ is back at the top. Go cry your salty tears and bow down to “The King of Pop, Rock, and Soul”!

🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️💪💪💪💪💪

I love that people listen to his music so much right now but I also hope it's not just a trend... how can I phrase it right...I hope many people also discover the human being behind the music and understand what he was about.

We desperately need a good role model these days...and I hope many people will find it in Michael and also stay fans in the future, to carry his legacy on.

I think one of the best things about this biopic is it will guarantee new fans who go on to uncover the REAL MJ

And that is why the press is so upset. It takes a sledgehammer to the image they built

Prince says that he never got to see his dad perform live. I remember seeing someone who looked like him in one United We Stand Man in the Mirror 2001 performance photo. There were a lot of people around the stage and there was a kid who looked a lot like him. I could be wrong.
He said in another interview that he saw him at MSG, but he was 4 years old, so he doesn't remember it much.

A few initial thoughts on the film:
What pleased me was hearing Big Boy. I liked Who's Lovin' You even more, a track that millions of people could finally experience in superb quality. In the end, Bad felt like a kind of liberation.
Jaafar and Colman Domingo were very convincing.
Michael's bond with children was portrayed quite effectively through the hospital visits.
What I didn't like was the fact that the Peter Pan picture book was looked at so often. I understand the logic behind it - that his identification with Peter Pan runs very deep, and that they wanted to convey that in this way.
It was good that the film showed how Michael transformed MTV.
Loneliness and the father-son conflict are the major themes of this biopic, and they could perhaps have been explored in even greater depth.

The movie was supposed to show Neverland so the book does make sense.

It’s a long ‘trend’. MJ has been popular since 1969! 🤔🤣👍

In the 1970’s, with the J5, he was part of the first ever act to have their first four singles go to #1 in the US (Not even Elvis or The Beatles managed that!!?) 😎

Also in the ‘70’s MJ had solo #1’s all over the world, and was the first solo artist ever to have 4 Top 10 hits from one album! 🙇‍♂️

We don’t need to talk much about the 1980’s - suffice to say he absolutely dominated the decade! 👑

With 1990’s came huge tours and #1 singles and albums all over the world. Also. ‘Super Bowl 1993’, anyone!
After the media tried to destroy him, the first time, he sold more singles in the 1990’s than he did in the 1980’s, here in the UK at least! 👏👏👏

In the 2000’s, after the media tried to destroy him again. MJ sold out 50 shows at The O2 Arena in no time (and could have sold 50 more).👌👌

The same decade, after his sad and untimely death, MJ dominated the Singles and Album charts like no one had done before or has done since. Also the ‘This Is It’ documentary broke all sorts of records.💪💪

In the 2010’s, despite his passing, MJ was still breaking records - firstly with the ‘This Is It’ DVD, and later by becoming the first artist to have had Top 10 hits in SIX different decades on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart!
In the same decade, when the streaming Charts took off, MJ became a prominent member of the upper echelons, especially around Halloween 🎃. Some of his singles and albums were ever present.😎

Then came the third assassination attempt on MJ’s career, in 2019. 👿

Did it stop MJ in the 2020’s? Some thought it would. But NO!

2020’s and MJ remained as an ever present in the modern metrics charts. Again singles and albums always there, being downloaded/streamed/watched in their BILLIONS!🙇‍♂️

Guess what!? MJ becomes the first and only act ever to have TOP 10 BILLBOARD HOT 100 - IN SEVEN DECADES! 💪😎👏

And we finally come to the present day.

MICHAEL absolutely smashes it at the box office, and he returns to being #1 all over the world with his Singles, Albums, Short Films, etc. In fact, for over a week, dominating EVERY SINGLE OTHER ACT ON THE GLOBAL CHARTS - new, young, or old. 🙇‍♂️👑🙇‍♂️👑

That’s a long winded but, hopefully, fact filled way of saying MJ has never been, and never will be, a ‘trend’.

An artist like MJ doesn’t come; “once in a decade”, “once in a generation”, “once in a lifetime”, etc. He just comes ONCE.

And when a genius like MJ arrives, he never leaves. Ever. 👑👑👑👑🙇‍♂
