Miles from ordinary...
I must have listened to this song a hundred times. Or more.
Three or 4 times in a row. Needless to say, I have discovered
so many little nuaunces throughout; something I love to do is
realize and discover things; the way MJ pronounce certain words
and phrases, the pitch and tone used there, unassuming control
in his voice, he does it naturally and with ease. So melodic.
This is what makes me love it all the more.
I think I'm obsessed actually.

To get what I mean, check each point I've listed, using
the YT link and tell me you dont feel that.

Check this:
*Just 20 seconds into the song, the way he says "this is real"

*The way he emphasizes the 'my' in "my plan" at 1:01

*Again, "this is real" at 1:25

*Then at 1:51, listen to the way he says "Ooooh yea!"

*At 2:14 ...."this is it"

*2:20 "this is real"

*2:30 "let us pray" ( I really love the way he says that)

*Then at 3:35 he says, ".....word about choo."

*And last but not least, at 3:46 his simply adorable way
he says "la-vur!" (lover)

Take a minute, no, 3, and focus on those points and let me know
what you think. See, I dont have anybody to listen to it with
and talk about it with to experience the pure magic of
Michael's song thats new to us. :)

Oh yeah I've noticed all these things too!
Are u a singer too? Cuz I tend to notice these things more obvious since I started to learn 'bout the theory in singing too.

I just looooove those little unexpected wordpronouncations and stuff....it makes his songs so good and special and gives it some sort of mystery around it. It's truly his magic!

oh yes. I know what you two mean
I listen to pronunciation, breathing, sound, etc... Michael is the best. The most beautiful voice and so effortless.

Now I'm gonna go read through and listen to all the things you pointed out to see if I had noticed them too! lol...

I'll be back!!!! (probably tomorrow, cause I'm supposed to be studying for an exam :mello: lol!)

Hahaha! I really remember you PYT1 and your studying around MJ happenings.
Yeah! Take a listen, I know you have noticed. :)

Mrs. Music...No, I'm not a singer, not in the professional sense anyway. lol!
I do however credit myself as being able to carry a tune. ;)
It's just that listening to MJ's music awakens the the ability
to hone in on and focus in on the nuances and magic that
he drenches in his art. When you realize something in his music,
it brings out so many emotions.
I become one with MJ and his song. These 3 are 1. A unity.

I once had desires and dreams of getting into entertainment
but I never persued it.

Thank you ladies.
Anybody else? Surely we're not the only ones feeling TII.

:shades:

Sil.. how did you fail to point out the way he says " Love " @ 0.25  I just Love it so much

and all the parts you mention and more.. just love the whole thang!

Oh. I forgot to add that at 2:10 "This is it"

I love music.....more specifally, MJ's music. :)
Him being the kind of artist that he is, makes me go into
the music and thats why I hear what I hear.

And I miss him terribly.

It is very sexy.. I go back and repeat it

Love you too Michael.

I really love this song. I don't understand what the big fuss when it was released. Sure it's not a mixed down version but I like that about the song. You can hear the rawness in his voice. Plus with it being a demo that leaves the possibility open for different mixes like this... Listen closely. It's a great mix. If you like it, I'll send it to you guys.

Listening to this right now. I love it even more after seeing the movie. It's great to see somebody appreciating the details of this song. He's so cool how he pronounces certain words in his songs.

Thanks for the link WG5516. I'll check it out :)
Dave- I'm sure the movie adds great impact to an already great song.
It's the little things in a song that makes them so wonderful for me.

I love how MJ doesnt pronounce the letter "D' in "world".
So MJ. So.......MJ.

I bought the CD the first day of release and read the credits
for TII and I find it interesting that Paul Anka's name is nowhere to be found.

Yes. The movie does add great impact to an already great song. I was already
hooked on this track, but now, after the movie I'm even a bigger fan of it.

I also love the ways MJ pronounces words like that. So MJ is right. :D

Everybody.....give it up for THIS IS IT!!!!!!!! Appreciate this song and appreciate Michael's talent and his incredible voice. This song depicts his voice at it's best. Even if you all may be mad about Paul Anka....give Michael his credit on this song. He deserves it!

I love the song too, I think I am already mis-singing the words though. There is a part where I think he says "I AM YOUR MAN" - is he saying that?

The song is definitely growing on me after listening to it several times. I do love all the nuances he puts into it as well, along with all his other songs.

WG- I gave a listen to your link. I think I'm a bit confused. Mix?
I like that you can hear him more clearly even tho he sounds, um,
I guess "different" could be the right word, in this version.

LOL Dave! I am giving it ALL up for Michael!
And I also give him the credit. Afterall, it's his voice that makes me love the track.

But what Hollow? S p i l l ! Lol!

ItsAllforLove- I'm not hearing that. Can you tell us at what point in the song you're referring to?

Captain- It does have the ability to do that....grow on you. ;)

Now in my siggy, I have the lyrics "Got this love, I can feel",
Sometimes it sounds like that, sometimes it sounds like he's saying
"Like this love", and still at other times it sounds like "Life is love".

I'm not totally sure, so I went with "Got this love".
Hee hee! :shades:

I don't think it's MJ's best ever, but the song has really grown on me. Michael's voice just soars on it. I really like the song.

No, it's not his best but being almost 3 decades old, it's holding it's own.
I've heard worse from some of the stuff thats being played these days.

I had to gasp when I heard TII on the radio; especially since I hardly play the radio.
That was great timing on my part.

O/T: Two people in this thread got banned?

ok, so I finally made it back in here!!! I've been so busy, lol.
So yeah, I definitely agree with all of the ones you mentioned, esecially the bolded ones

LOL!!

OK, here are some of he parts I love in addition to yours:

~When he says "I'm the light of the world" at 19 seconds

~I love how he says "and it feel as though I've seen.." at 34 seconds, cause he says "feel" insead of "feels" lol

~The "ooooh!" at 53 seconds- it's kinda off of the original beat, which makes it amazing- and the sound of his voice

~The way he sings "heard" at 1:45-1:46

~The harmony at "word about chooo" (lol!) is just beautiful- 1:57

~The way his voice sounds when he says "you want some of this yourself" @ 2:40

~How he changes up the melody of "I never thought" @ 3:23

~ When he says "come on dear" @ 3:28

~ "never heard a single word about you" at 3:33

I love music, and I have never known of anyone to have the voice and ability to sing that has touched me like Michael. His voice is so amazingly beautiful, and it can sound so pure, and the harmonies sound so beautiful. He knows how to phrase things and he just goes all out on songs and really sings them. I'm so proud to be a fan.

And thank you for posting this thread, I love it!! :D

The guy who gave Michael voice training would tell him to change a c for a g in the song, if it is ok with the others, that is why some of the words sounds different. It makes it more fluent. eg. Annie are you ok. he was probably saying Annie are you walking or something like that.
The clip is on Youtube check it out.

Extended version cd single and album has different
cd single no intro album version has
why?

My pleasure. :)
The ones you noted are good ones too. Yes, they do stand out as well. Seems like we love the whole song.

Now what about this?
~The way his voice sounds when he says "you want some of this yourself" @ 2:40

He really says that?! Wowz!
I gotta listen again! Lol!

Parli, yep, that would be Seth Riggs. :)

DS8989...??

Thanks for your input everyone.

Yeah, I know about Seth. But Michael's vocal 'stylistics' attributes to his singing more.

oh, haha! I had just been singing it that way cause it sounded like he could be saying that too, and I thought that would be hot if he said that :rollin: - but he says something like "and you said you saw my face yourself" teeheehee. I didn't even realize I had typed it that way
