While this would make sense, they could have avoided all of this by shooting & editing the doc before the T40 release. Why screen it unfinished in the first place smh.
For me, it makes no sense. I can understand (sort of) doing screenings from which you gather feedback and then do a certain amount of re-editing and fine-tuning. But your product really should be pretty much ready to go if you are going to show it to people, especially fans. If the film includes what seems to be obvious filler material then you haven't done the job.
Plan your timetable better, start the project sooner, get the thing 98% finished - at the very least - and then do some screenings to help you with the final polishing and tweaking. If the storytelling wasn't cohesive that's a red flag to me. This is a really well-known story. Including previously unseen footage would be fabulous (did they promise that? can't remember, have lost interest in the project, tbh) but it's not going to change the storyline. New footage should be making the story even more exciting bc of new, previously unknown, details. But how could you end up with a story that isn't cohesive? Rhetorical question.
If it was only a minority of fans that voiced these particular criticisms then what other reason can there be for the delay? Another rhetorical question, lol.
