Ugh...this guy and Michael.

Creative title, I know... but seriously, I am rather upset today. See, I made this wonderful Michael Jackson collage for my assignment book this year, and I am so proud of it. =)

But, there's this guy I like, and we were talking about somethings that I inquired about, which are non-MJ related so I don't need to post them here. Anyway, I needed to write something he said down for my own reference, and I didn't want to use things which are extraneous to outside pursuits, so naturally, I chose the "notes" section of my assignment book to write things down on. Well, when I finished writing down what I needed, I showed him my Michael Jackson assignment book. I was like, isn't it awesome?! =D

And he just stared at it with his awful cold, dead, Polar Express eyes...and then finally, he said, "no." And I was like, WTF!? Even if you don't like something, at least pretend to, or don't say anything at all if you've got nothing nice to say, like they say.

I don't understand why anyone would think it isn't awesome. I, for one, think it's rather comely and much better than the stupid assigned cover which sucks more than anyone will ever know. He's weird, anyway. He never has anything nice to say about any guy I like, whether it be Michael, or Alexander Hamilton, Napoleon or Voltaire. WTH. Someone who doesn't like those guys has serious issues, especially when it comes to Michael! I don't know why he hates all the guys I like. :/

Any thoughts/ideas? I am highly upset at his reaction to my Michael Jackson book. I think it was mean and unnecessary.

He didn't even apologize or anything either. Even though I admit I have a bit of sentiments for him, Michael will ALWAYS come first.

After all, I can't betray the man who saved me. He is precious to me, and if you hurt him, you hurt me, if you don't like him, you don't like me. Plain and simple. I will always stand by Michael, no matter what, and no matter who opposes me, even if it's someone I happen to esteem.

Yeah, I know it's an opinion, but jeez. He could have been nicer about it, or not said anything, like I said. Then again, the guy in question has a bit of a rep for being an asshole. xD

I usually don't care about what people think, but he's not people. He's generally really cool, with the exception of this incident. >.>

Well non of the people around me likes mike but hell, more for me then.

According to ur post, he didn't say anything negative remarks about him so it should be easy to deal with.

Personally, if someone show me a pic collage/etc of mike and ask if I like it, I'd tell them "no" too.:mello:

So yea good luck with him. He sounds like a winner...

I would say get used to it and stand above it. Don't waste your energy on such things. I've been a fan for many years now and you don't want to know what people said to me over the years. At the beginning of me being a fan of him I always got a bit upset and felt the need to defend myself/Michael. But later I didn't even respond or I just said "Ok, if that is what you think..fine" coz you can't help what others think or wether or not they are so narrow minded and believe tabloids or are just being stupid and go along with the masses.

And next to that wouldn't you be more upset if he lied to you now and said it looked cool and then after a chat about MJ you find out he wasn't honest from the beginning? He could have said something like "It's not really my taste/style" but he didn't.

Don't worry about it, we can't covert everyone to fandom. I have friends that are fans and friends that are not, it might be easier to express my fandom to other fans but it doesn't mean I can't to non-fans (just not on the same scale). I've learned to develop quite a thick skin to some of the negative comments I get regarding my fandom, but at the same time I don't hate anyone for not being a fan, it's their choice.

oh....and I may have mentioned this a lot lately....but it helps if the person you're in a relationship with is a fan to the same extent that you are but guess not everyone gets that lucky lol

Thanks. Yeah, I could see how that would help. Michael fans seem to generally be nicer people than non-MJ fans. Must be because we all have such good taste. =P

If someone showed me a collage of Michael and asked if I liked it, I would give them a hug and be like "YESS CAN I HAZ IT?!" XD Lol, ok maybe not as excited. Probably more like, "It's lovely!"

I wouldn't break a friendship over someone not liking Michael unless they were being inconsiderate with their opinions or virulent towards him in my presence, thus showing no respect whatsoever towards me or what I care about.

Anyway, you are really lucky to have met your current BF and have him be a Michael fan! =D

Reminds me of this girl I met when going on a course recently, she must have been 17 and has the most awesome MJ bag covered in his pictures from Bad,Invincible and I said 'nice bag,MJ fan huh'? In front of a group of 10 or so people and she said nope she just brought it as it looked cool.
I wonder if she was or was just thinking that it wouldn't have been cool to say so in front of them people so I told of how I was at which point the course teacher came in and she said 'oh Michael, not you guys aswell I had to destroy our Thriller CD as my 3/5 year old play and talk about MJ 24/7' !
