Ultimate Invincible Album

I've been listening to Farewell my Summer Love lately. Call on Me, great song.

But you can tell mj is going through the motions. He didn't love these songs or this time.

That's a big change from invincible where, love it or hate it, he does sound like he means it, and like he's connected to the songs. Even if he didn't write it, it still personifies him better than the generic love songs of his childhood.

Maybe not 2000 Watts. But he did think it was cool, and it's about the same as Speed Demon, so.
Perhaps I misunderstood something again. But I didn't see the connection between Farewell my Summer Love, Call on Me and Speed Demon and 2000 Watts.

But I rediscovered Speed Demon. I don't know why I didn't listen to it. 30 minutes on repeat and I loved the drive and the interesting sound. Unexpectedly. I had a similar story with Morphine.

I'm just talking about his music. The lesser appreciated/ non self composed stuff.

To me Shout is like TDCAU 2. It should've been on Invincible. Along with a solo version of What more can I give.

On the Line is stronger than most ballads on Invincible. It was recorded in 1996, so technically it is an Invincible outtake.
I'd replace Don't Walk Away or You Are My Life with the empowering On the Line.

I knew my comment would be controversial so I apologise for my statement.

The tabloids have not done their job on me, two child molestation trials did, plus countless other stories.

I just don't like MJ being associated with children due to all the drama. Unfortunately MJ and allegations come hand in hand.

I'm on this forum because I'm a Michael Jackson fan. I'm a fan of the man too, just wish he had not been associated with this crap, hence why I find this type of song a bit disturbing

You shouldn't have to justify your response. Some people live in the clouds and think Michael is above all criticism and he's not. He should have left the whole subject of kids well alone given his circumstance. The unfortunate thing about Michael is he was stubborn and insisted on learning things the hard way. Even if we grant his innocence, I don't see why he needed to have Gavin Arvizo in his bed after the Jordy Chandler thing. It's just asking for trouble.

I actually don't think the song is that bad. I just think it conjures up negative connotations. The whole children and Michael thing is a subject that makes people uneasy even when they think he's innocent. It's just a weird fascination to have. I think we can all understand him not having a childhood and maybe trusting kids more than adults (and even then... look where that got him), but because this bond is unrelatable to most, and I think most of us would draw the line at anyone staying in an adult's bedroom, it just really, really wasn't a helpful song to introduce to the world at that time.

Rather a Blood on the Dance Floor outtake.

I've read several threads about 2000 watts. I like Michael's voice the best. Unusual, low, brash. Interested in the question about the meaning of the song. And according to most, it's about sex. Some of the participants assume it's about video games. (I liked the joke that maybe the lyrics about the video game "Sex.")) There are also opinions about the club and making and listening to music.
This is very interesting and sounds like a provocation from MJ.
I haven't yet come across songs with such diverse interpretations.
I decided for myself that the song is about the drive, the enjoyment, the excitement of the music and the creative process. Like Speed Demon, for example, it's the drive of speed.
I love this song and used to listen to it a lot at one time.
But there's one moment in particular that really gets me. The way Michael spells "dance" angrily. It's like an order, "Dance and nobody cares if you don't want to."
Such a sad note of weariness...

Yeah there were no songs made during the making of BOTDF apart from the scores for the Ghosts short film that were made near that time. The songs on the album are either leftovers from HIStory or Dangerous.

It was the musical accompaniment to a film. It's not an "outtake", it's a released song.

It was originally recorded by Jackson for the Spike Lee movie Get on the Bus (1996), but it was not featured on the soundtrack.[7][9]
It can be heard during the opening credits. Although it wasn't included on the soundtrack album, it was released on the Limited Edition Minimax CD included in the Deluxe Collector Box Set of Michael Jackson's Ghosts in 1997, with a longer version released on the 2004 box set The Ultimate Collection.

True. But technically On the Line is an Invincible outtake, as it was produced after HIStory.

It was released and forgotten. It's not an outtake, it's a "rarity".

Another Part of Me originated in 84, it appeared in Captain EO, and was a rarity, until it was on Bad. Then it was a song from the Bad album.

We are Here to Change The World originated in (at least) 1985, appeared in Captain EO, and was never released, until 2004. It is not a Bad Outtake, it is a Rarity. A rare song.

The song has to be considered for the album to be an "outtake".

Actually it originated early 1984, when Michael was in the hospital following the Pepsi burn incident. Confirmed by John Barnes in an MJ Cast interview. Just thought you'd like to know that tidbit.

You're right actually, I was thinking of Dirty Diana/Liberian Girl more so. I'd edit it for clarify but I'm lazy. Thank you lol
