Unheard HOLLYWOOD TONIGHT lyrics by Michael Jackson:
(via @damienshields)

She’s a streetwalker at her age,
She's young and she's afraid.
She sells her body to get paid,
It's too much for a girl her age.
Police is stalking her today,
They now know she ran away.
She is running 'cause she's scared...

She doesn't even have a ticket,
She doesn't even have a way back.
She's lost and she's alone,
there's no place for her to go.
She is young and she is cold,
Just like her father told her so.

(Based on a true story, according to Michael)

Ive allready knew this, i posted a topic with these lyrics and the extra adlibs awhile back.

Yep, nearly the opposite of Riley's version on the album. I like his work he did to the beat, but I hate seeing producers change the meaning of MJs songs which were clearly not his vision.

It s very often that songs have few versions. And the lyrics in the final version may not be anything that was in the working process. So what Teddy changet or not we can't say for sure.
few different lyrics leaked in the past of HT. And this one to me is too dark and kind of away of the "girl wants to be famous" theme. this here concentrates more about the failer and prostitute she becomes.

Aye, but at least the bridge was already written by MJ. Riley could have used this one to let Taryll sing it instead of writing his own version.

I'm so mad at them for changing the lyrics, it's like they censored Michael. When will they understand that the fans are interested in Michael's vision, not the producers' and whoever else is working on the album. Every album released after Michael's death should have two CDs: one with Michael's original demos exactly as Michael left them even if unfinished, and one with the tracks completed by the producers. That way we could know what was done and approved by Michael and what was done by someone else without Michael's input. And we would be free to listen to the version that we prefer. I think Michael's version of Hollywood Tonight was much more meaningful than the one they put on the album. Teddy Riley ruined the lyrics... They even cut a part that Michael had actually recorded, about the girl being only 15 years old. Very obvious censorship. It's like we're back in the Motown days: joyful songs that are never political, religious or controversial. God forbid Michael should try bringing awareness to the problems of this world.

why change it? seriously, i knows songs, stories, poems goes through changes before being published. but that's with the authors consent.

I don't get it how can the lyrics be changed - it's still MJ singing the song right!?

If they found any more HT lyrics in MJs hard drives that'd be amazing.

But I'm ok and coming around to preferring a guitar solo bridge.
