"WAR" is a Soul/Rock/Funk Band from Cali that fused Latin influences, Reggae, jazz and r&b. Most of there material focused on political issues which makes them easily one of my fav bands along with there fusion of genres.

Charles Miller, War's sax player who also did the lead vocals on Low Rider was killed when some robbers broke into his house around 1980. Lee Oskar still does session work. The group was ripped off by their manager and don't earn royalties.
 
Wow thats hella messed up. But thats how it is with most of those old acts. They dont get paid for their music.
