WBSS2008 on iTunes US!!

Well I mean he can be marketable and still make GOOD music. That's how he got to where he is in the first place. People BUY good music and it is marketable.

"Well I mean he can be marketable and still make GOOD music. That's how he got to where he is in the first place. People BUY good music and it is marketable."

I don't think MJ can be marketable in America anymore unless he mixes in with the crowd he has started mixing in with now. MJ needs the young crowd and, with the hit his image has taken in their eyes, this is the only way for him to do it.

Just as an example of what I was talking about earlier...

This is a good song, in fact it's really good. Yet, simply because Akon sings on it many MJ fans just dismiss the song. Ridiculous.

Well if he comes out with a CRAP song plus a CRAP artist from today, its not gonna be very effective.

MJ simply can't come out with a song like say...oh i dunno "Low" and expect to be on top. He'll be fiting in but by MJ's standards, DEFINITELY not a great song  People in the beginning bought into mj cuz he had quality, and they will by into MJ for the same reason now. MJ is a legend, he makes GOOD music, and there is no reason that he needs to compromise this just to 'fit in'. Actually if he does that, he'll probably be labeled a sell out and DEFINITELY fall off the radar.

MJ knows that good music sells. Thats why the industry is in such a slump now.

And i say because Akon sings 90% of the song is a valid reason to dismiss it  But the song itself is good...the way it's mixed and produced is good...and because of that I can tolerate it. And I think it'll go far simply cuz it's a GOOD song as well, not just cuz Akon is popular.

"Smack that" is a fantastic club song. I think MJ fans need to get over the fact that society has evolved and, in order to be successful, MJ needs to evolve with it. This isn't the 80's, teens and people in their 20s are the main market and they don't have the same tastes as people that age from 25 years ago. I personally don't see why so many people have difficulty appreciating the evolution of music. It seems to be more stubborness than anything, like a "my generation is better than yours" type deal.

MJ doesn't have to adjust to anything. people still appreciate good music. thriller has been rereleased so many times, it's proof that music hasn't 'evolved'. cus thriller keeps on being a hit to this day. there's just different types of music, today, that's all. the term 'marketable' is a vague term, cus music keeps selling for surprising reasons, everyday. record companies can't keep up, for that reason, so they're slumping in the new music categories for the most part. a song can sell without images if the song is good enough, and a hot image can tank if the song sucks enough. anyway, i'm glad wbss is scoring so high on itunes. it seems that a lot of people dissed akon, for whatever reasons they are willing...or...not willing to state, but he's bringin in the benjamins, so apparently, the music has the last word. and MJ's beats still rock people. so again, the music has the last word.
