Why hasn't Sony/estate blocked STTR and 12'oclock from YT like they did other unreleased songs?

I was very surprised to see that STTR and 12'oclock are in You tube. The estate nor Sony has not blocked them like they did all the other unreleased tracks.

Can someone tell me the reason? And does that mean we may not see these amazing yes, amazing songs in the next unreleased album?

I really hope and I think they should get an official release because first they are OUT OF THIS WORLD, there is no controversy on these songs as everyone loves them and I think STTR needs a proper ending, the ending now is very abrupt.

So what do you think?
 
Is it possible Sony don't have the rights to the songs? Maybe that is why they weren't on the MICHAEL album?

It could just be the sheer amount of video's uploaded. DYKWYCA was indeed considered for Michael, so the Estate do have the rights...
 
I know I'll guess it eventually if I think hard enough but I'm tired. What song is STTR?
 
When it comes to releasing music, the estate lack all logic and common sense.......


"Do You Know Where Your Children Are" could of easily added another 2million sales in it was included in "Michael" and given a proper release with a video and a CD single!!!!

I agree it is an incredible song, but I don't know if a CD single would have worked well. The title is very controversial, and well we don't need more controversy do we? hehe
 
I don't know why Sony hasn't blocked STTR and DYKWYCA. May be because the titles are not officially released, so youtube's detection system cannot pick them up and Sony hasn't authorized any action. This is just my guess.

Both DKYWYCA and BG were early contenders for the Michael album. Someone got an early version of the album and leaked the songs.

BG, DYKWYCA and STTR received rave reviews from fans. Majority of people love the songs. I remember I put BG on loop and listened to it for hours the night BG was leaked. I was addicted to it. For some reasons not known, these excellent choices were excluded from the album. Instead of officially released as singles, they are now available on youtube.

I understand the concept of not putting all eggs in one nest and saving the best to last. However, the risk of that is leakage, which has already happened. Even if these songs are going to be officially released in the next album, the excitement is gone, similar to what happend to HMH. It'll be difficult to generate buzz and build anticipation. If these three songs are all to be included in the next album, Sony needs to fill up the rest of the album with equally strong songs. Otherwise, what's the incentive for fans to spend money to buy songs that they have already owned?

Good points. But these songs are not quite finished. Leave the vocals alone and work on mastering, production, especially on BG and STTR and maybe fans would still want to buy to see what the finished product sounds like? I know I would. But you are right, let's hope the estate has many other strong songs to compete with these that have never or have partially leaked (APWNN) . :D
