Xscape chart positions. (incl. singles)

That's over dramatic. Not every week will be strong, it's like that with all albums. Sometimes they drop then go up again. How many albums sell the same numbers for months on end?

There are 2 weeks until the new single and it seems they won't do anything before that, so let's be patient a little more. We don't know what strategy they have, it's possible they've planned lots of promo for next month.

I really hope they have another wave of promotion planned for the release of APWNN. In the meantime, all that we can do is to keep requesting LNFSG on radio and voting for the song in various polls. The more exposure this songs gets, the more people may be willing to go ahead and buy the album. It's all that we have for now

We also need to keep the higher cost of the deluxe version in mind when evaluating the success of this album. Some Euopean fans in the forum, for example, mentioned that they paid 20 euro for the album. This is more than 26 dollars based on the current exchange rate. I believe the average cost of a standard album in the US is about 10-12 dollars. I paid about 17 dollars for my deluxe copy at Walmart. Based on total revenue generated, Xscape might end up being more successful than other albums that sold more copies

Last 2 week sales. Not overall total sales or worldwide sales. I'm talking about last 2 weeks in US. 7,943 is very low in my opinion and can be called a disaster.[/QUOTE]

I'm glad you're not a Mariah Carey fan...

I think they will. LNFSG was basically promoted as a "song of the summer" so it wouldn't make any sense to release another single in June or July. I think this strategy has worked, since the album has been relatively stable on the charts in many countries. Remember, both the album and single has sold over 1 million copies already. In this day and age, that's a success.

Agree.

Thanks! It's good to see that the Billboard numbers for this week are a bit higher than the total on HDD. I have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of this album in the upper end of the charts. There are too many great songs on it for it to just totally disappear.

Do we have the mid week sales for the U? Is Loving You helping there?

Based on the steady performance of LNFSG, the potential boost from APWNN and the early radio airplay requests for Chicago in the US urban market, I am very hopeful in terms of the long term success of this album. It may also benefit from the holiday shopping season at the end of the year if it is still in the public eye at that time. If things go well, I think it could approach 2 million worldwide sales by the end of this year. Fingers crossed :)

"Xscape" is currently the 3rd best-selling album released in 2014, with ~1,2mi copies sold worlwide.

Only Coldplay and Pharrell's new albums sold more than that.

And Xscape will outsell both. Just watch!! "You ain't seen nothin' yet!!"

#21. Love Never Felt So Good - Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake (last week 17)
MJJ / Epic - 110.000

Without the artist, we cannot have these high expectations as it relates to the promotion of Xscape. I for one am pleased with what has been accomplished sales wise thus far.....look at what has happened with albums from both Mariah and Jlo, and they are alive to have promoted their albums.

APWNN is just around the corner, lets just wait and see what they have in store for the next phase of this album.

Would you happen to have a link for the page with the sales? Seems like the one on their website is not updated. It still reflects the the chart for last week even though the article on the main page provides a summary of the current sales

Nevermind. I found it: http://www.mediatraffic.de/albums-week32-2014.htm

Glad to see Xscape's sales being steady even without promotion.

Frozen sold more than Coldplay's album this week! :wtf: People should stop buying it, seriously

What the hell is wrong with people?? What makes Frozen so special? What makes it people think that it is a good album? I am so disappointed in the American public...

For Frozen, 59% of last week's sales were outside of the US.
