Yes, and Mariah Carey's new album is down at #174, dropping from #124. Now that is a huge drop. I guess MJ-fans are spoiled.

And USA is her best country. She was out of the charts in 2-3-weeks after release in nearly all other countries worldwide.

BTW did I miss a updated article from Roger Friedmann about her succesful and longiving album?

I don't think its right to compare with Maria Carey. Michael Jackson is the KING OF POP. Its normal to have high expectations.

Yes, but Maria is alive and free !!! This album is her own work but not a collection of contemporised songs.

xscape - 66º
lnfsg - 43º

Yikes! Can anyone explain the massive decline for Xscape during the past few weeks in the UK? After weeks of steady performance, it has suddenly dropped like a rock there. Looks like it will be completely out of sight by the time APWNN is released

Wow, I haven't checked this thread in a while. But LNFSG still in top 20? Xscape being the EIGTH best selling album of the year? It's doing amazing! I hope with more efforts in the next single the results will be even better :D

I really think Sony/Estate took too long to release a second single. There's nothing we can do now, just hoping APWNN helps to boost the sales for the people who haven't bought the album yet.

How many Xscape albums has been sold in US?
It needs to sell 500,000 in order to reach Gold certification and 1 million to be certified for Platinum.

Gold status should be around the corner and Platinum takes a little time.

Not once. The album is fantastic. I called weekly album sales a disaster twice (this week and last week). Which is true.

You did the album sales many times call a disaster, even before you had the end-results and in even weeks in landed in Top Ten. It`s well archived in this thread.

Maybe Roger Friedmann took his ideas for his articles from you? (just fun).

Hopefully APWNN single release gives a little push.

Before anyone calls Xscape a disaster, as far as I can read RIIA website,Katy Perry's album Prism, released oct 2013 (no 7 on 2014 best selling list) still hasn't got Gold certification in US, Pharrell Williams' Girl (no 4 in 2013 best selling list) albums hasn't got one either.

Maybe Xscape is rather low in charts, but it might get Gold certification for album before these current names.

WOW, in many countries including mine it's a super low number (30,000 copies in Mexico) to get a Gold certication compared to USA. I really hope Xscape can reach 2 million copies at the end of the year, IF possible.

I think they waited too long with the single.

The album has lost momentum - and I think it will be very hard to regain it.

The should have been better with promotion - more billboards, ads etc.

In Denmark I have not seen a TV-ad for the album... - TV is a great way to promote an album, yet they have not had any TV ads... (at least not in Denmark...)

I really really hope APWNN will get an amazing video to boost promotion and sales. APWNN needs to do extremely well in the charts to help album sales...

I think people who are in charge knows what they are doing and what to do better than we here:)

Also seemingly people have forgotten how much was spent and done for publicity during the first month of release. If fans are not going to buy it, they are not going to buy it. There seems to e people that rather get it for free than pay for it, and we shouldn't accuse record label, the estate for not doing enough.
Maybe it is the fans who haven't done their bit to make Xscape more successful?
As for ref, Xscape is no 6th on the list most pirated albums.

I admit I downloaded it on May 10 because I couldn't wait to listen to it. But as you can see, I bought my copy. I understand there are many people who can't afford buying the album, however; the ones who can, I assume they aren't enough hardcore fans to pay for Michael's music.
