This is good news! I hope it gets to platinum certification (1 million sold) soon!
 
I guess every country has different numbers/quantities to give Glod, Platinum or Diamond certificates. Mine is with 30,000 copies for Gold and 60,000 for Platinum. How many copies did Xscape sell in USA? Anyway, way to go Michael and Xscape! :dance:

Xscape still hasn't sold as good as Michael did right? Do we have WW sales?

I know the marked is different now, and Michael was the first album after MJ died, but I do hope Xscape will sell better - cause it's a much better and stronger album IMO.

I really love Xscape - hear the album every day andlike it more and more with each listen! :)

The worldwide numbers for the MICHAEL album are shipment, right? If we follow the mediatraffic sales we get this:

Week 1 - 734.000 (#1)
Week 2 - 502.000 (#2)
Week 3 - 177.000 (#2)
Week 4 - 93.000 (#3)
Week 5 - 80.000 (#3)
Week 6 - 54.000 (#11)
Week 7 - 43.000 (#16)
Week 8 - 39.000 (#18)
Week 9 - 31.000 (#23)
Week 10 - out of top 40

Total - 1,753,000

Even if it sold a bit more, I doubt it's more than 2 million.

Well, no one is selling 5 million albums this days, so this number are not realistic this days.

Thank you very much for those numbers. I think worldwide shipment for MICHAEL was 3 MIL and that 2,6 MIL is what various people are saying it actually sold. I remember that number from back then - so I thought that number was from mediatraffic.

One thing about mediatraffic though - it's not all countries in the world and are they counting sales from just Top 40 albums?? Maybe album continued to sell around 25,000 per week when it left the Top 40.

They count the worldwide sales from all countries and they a have sytem for estamationg sales who has no charts.

Ok, but for total album sales - they count just while the album is in Top 40 or all sales? Do they stop counting when album leaves Top 40 - like Xscape just did or like those numbers above for MICHAEL album? Thanks.

I know, but I kind of felt that Xscape is so gooooood album that it deserved to be sold around 5 million mark.

Btw, Bruno Marsh is well over 4 million and few others so it is not impossible + Adele sells millions

For the year-end chart they say they count sales outside top 40, so I guess we have to wait the end of the year.
